    Yoshi's Crafted World [Switch] - 29th March

I agree on the music. It didn’t bother me at all and it’s nowhere near as bad as New Island.

    Yoshi's Crafted World [Switch] - 29th March

It’s like they blended the simplicity of Little Big Planet with the aesthetics of Tearaway and stuck Yoshi in it, and I’m totally down with that. I turned to Super Lucky’s Tale on XB1 recently in the hope of scratching a relaxed platformer itch, and it’s not really doing much for me, but I sense that this will push all the right buttons (admittedly I have a huge bias for most things Yoshi related). Here’s John from DF taking a look at it: I don’t fully agree with him on the music... at least not until I hear the full soundtrack. The demo level’s theme we get is the same tune used in almost every trailer, and it’s a pity there’s no variant when you go to play the flip side of the same level. That said, the music in the menus is rather nice (particularly the level completion screen tune) and I though the music in the story trailer was fine.

    Yoshi's Crafted World [Switch] - 29th March

I can’t wait for the full release. It’s not challenging no but, that’s ok 😊 it’s gorgeous, feels unique and is just so full of goodness I can’t help but smile. I’ve played through the demo 3 times now even after 100% everything and I’m still enjoying it.

    DAEMON X MACHINA [Switch] - 2019

I completely forgot to post about the Prototype Missions demo that went up onto the eShop after last week’s Direct. It’s pretty polished style wise, and there’s clearly a fair amount of depth you get into in customising your bot suit. I wanted it to be a bit more fast and frantic though, more Platinum-esque I suppose. The initial mission feels slow, but by the second your movement feels a bit faster and more fluid, however there’s still something a little lacking. Apparently Nintendo have been sending out surveys to a number who have tried the demo so clearly there is time to improve things in response to feedback.

As I said in the other thread. Shocking no one.

    Yoshi's Crafted World [Switch] - 29th March

This might be the happiest looking game I’ve ever set eyes on. It’s Yoshi’s Big Planet! No challenge whatsoever in the demo, but it’s so endearing and downright fluffy that sometimes it’s just what I crave from a game.

British TV shows are the BEST!!!

Jeff, you magnificent bastard! Line of Duty is amazing! We blazed through season 1 and 2 this weekend. Hoping we can get through season 4 (each season is 6 episodes, except 1st season, which is 5), before it disappears off Hulu. Next, it's going to AcornTV, which can be had for $5/month, so if we have to go there to finish it, we will. Highest recommendation! This show is taut and tense. The best cop show I've seen since The Wire. Carlos.

To be fair, the first pic kind of sucks which is on me. Color and all other PQ elements are identical in person. The 5x scale just blows the image up to fill more of the screen. It’s nicer to get more image on the screen but the 4x looks a bit more accurate resolution wise.
  13. Glad to see they are going this direction.

    4K for life......for now.

Further to the original report, Samsung have clarified they're not making any new disc players for US or European markets at all; it's not just UHD they're abandoning other than in regions that don't have established streaming services to compete with.

The Lego Movie 2 - it might be the fourth lego movie now, but still definitely funny, smartly written & charming. It just can't possibly live up to the freshness or ingeniousness of the first. Despite enjoying this, I don't think I need a third at this point.

Photography (hardware & technical discussion thread)

I’ve realised that I am very fussy when it comes to electronic viewfinders. The only EVF I have not found fatiguing is the one on the Leica SL as it’s BIG and has a high resolution. The one on the Q became a problem for me after a while, particularly with my glasses, and it also wasn’t particularly accurate in my opinion compared to the rear display. Curious to see the Q2 (next month?) which will apparently have an organic EL EVF, but I imagine the size will be the same so will still be a bit too tunnel like for my eyes. I’ve been a lot happier these past five months moving between the optical vf and back panel display on the camera I won’t mention.

Speaking of the UBK90, Best Buy has it for $180 again, and you still get a free Logitech remote.

Anna and the Apocalypse - my new favourite Christmas zombie musical. That it was filmed in the west of central Scotland with in what's clearly a high school full of Scottish extras puts it over the top for me, of course Utterly top notch.

Snatcher finally running on the Sega CD via the Framemeister with a 4x integer scale profile and a 5x integer scale. Not sure which I like better, yet. 5x obviously fills more of the screen but the resolution works a bit better at 4x.

Spent the last 20 minutes modding my PSPGo with the M2 Dummy adapter. It’s a mod cable you can buy for about 30 bucks that lets you use MicroSD cards instead of the stupid expensive Sony memory cards. Here’s some pictures of the mod as I progressed.... Honestly, the hardest part was removing the dividers between the pin contacts on the duo adapter for the MicroSD cards without scratching the shit out of it. The rest was easy. Here’s a link to the cable here if you’re interested: https://m2adapter.cart.fc2.com/ca1/1/
