Images not working since upgrade

Recommended Posts

I'm not seeing images others are posting in the mobile version of the site since the upgrade. Just a small box with the image file name in it. This is with Safari on iOS. Videos and, weirdly enough, animated gifs are fine. Tried Chrome on iOS and it does seem to work.

Interesting. I noticed the same with a picture Romier posted, and I think I was on Chrome on iOS, but not sure.

Thanks! Are there any examples that are not a post by Romier? As of now it's looking like some problem with the way he posted those images (The source code of the posts are not links to images)

From the first example:

<p>
	Box art:
</p>

<p>
	<img alt="imagejpeg" src="webkit-fake-url://ee669968-7546-445c-9ca5-86e7a78ecc03/imagejpeg">
</p>

I may have been jumping the gun with the specifics of my issue. The images in the examples I was going to show and that Angry linked don't work in either Safari or Chrome, on either my iPhone or PC. I had assumed it was all images since I was seeing it quite a bit in the last few days, and when I checked Chrome, just happened to try a thread that had working images. Once I looked into it further, I could tell there was something wrong with the URLs of the broken images.

It appears it is most likely something with how Romier was posting those images as you stated. If you do a search for webkit-fake-url you will see lots of hits with this issue. It is apparently something to do with pasting an image into the editor on a webkit based browser such as Safari, if I'm reading the little that I skimmed correctly.

Hmmm. I checked the UHD disc thread and artwork for releases I have posted in the past displays ok, so perhaps, like pretty much everything else, this is all Romier's fault.

I can see both your image posts and Romier's in that thread.

So Romier is or isn't a chump? I'm confused now.

Can you see this image?
