5 episodes into Narcos S4 and it’s a Mexican crime epic every bit as good as the Escobar seasons of the show. Absolutely top tier television. Loving it.

It's very good, I agree. Quite a lot better than S3, IMO.

S3 had a tough hill to climb coming off of Escobar. The Cali cartel is just nowhere near as interesting as Medellín or the Mexican cartels. It was still a solid season but Wagner Moura as Escobar was just too much of a performance for that season to overcome.

A bit late to the party, by about 30 years. Just saw Mac & Me (MSK3000 style) with my kids. That was one of the worst movie experiences, and best MSK3000 episodes! OMG that movie would have sickened me had we not been laughing so much. That movie is the pinnacle of proof that the 80's had noooo shame! We all loved it as a 3000 episode though. We kept having to skip back (almost typed rewind) because we were laughing too loud to hear the next jokes.

Are you familiar with the infamous original ending? Preserved on the Japanese laserdisc:

It boggles my mind that Alan Silvestri scored that movie. It wasn’t an “early point in my career and I need the money” phase in his life either. This came AFTER Back to the Future and Predator.

I didn't know that, but it doesn't surprise me, I actually thought the movie was going there when we were watching that scene. It felt like the movie veered in that exact moment, so it's very interesting to see it was scripted that way.  Thanks for sharing that!

That would actually have been horribly humorous had it remained. An unintentional black comedy where a paralyzed kid in a wheel chair gets shot & killed by police and resurrected by aliens, sponsored by McDonald's, Coke & Skittles!

O-M-G, who the fuck green lit that, and how the fuck it not get stopped along the way by any number of people or organizations? It's absolutely mind boggling!  Thank goodness for us it didn't,... but holy shit!

He probably thought all of them were wacky movies, shaking his judging compass.

I realised Mac and Me shares an executive producer with Flight of the Navigator which Silvestri also scored two years earlier, so I’m closing the book on this case, chief.

The final episode of the season must be a pilot episode they tried called Nailed It DIY where it’s crafting and not baking. Different co-host . Still pretty funny.

I am almost done with the first batch of Sabrina episodes, enjoying the show. However I realized one of the characters on the show is Jeff from Coupling UK and I laugh anytime he is on screen , even thought it’s a pretty dark show.

Oh jeez, I planned to give this show a shot but now I'm sold! Out of curiosity, do you remember how you got turned on to Coupling?

Bird Box is a 2-hour movie on Netflix starring Sandra Bullock, and it's the real deal.  Definitely check it out.  It's getting a lot of well-deserved hype.  Damn scary at times, and great performances.  I give it 4 out of 5 TweetStorms.

I read that it's a poor man's Quiet Place? Is that accurate?

I'd say that it's of the same general formula as A Quiet Place, with unique and different twists.  I didn't feel like it was a total ripoff deserving the "poor man's" designation. It stands on its own ground quite well.

I’ll repost what I posted in the watched films thread. It’s fine, but I wasn’t nearly as impressed.

Bird Box - Sandra Bullock is very good in this. The rest of the cast is equally up the task. There are good moments throughout and some suitably creepy scenes but the core concept is equally as problematic as the gimmick in “A Quiet Place”, except that film nails the execution. This film is only mildly successful by comparison. I just didn’t connect with its characters and Mallory’s character arch didn’t feel natural. It’s worth a watch if you want a decent horror flick but you’ve watched this movie before and it’s been done far better.

In one of the dumbest things I have seen, the Black Mirror movie does not work on Apple TV, amazon fire, chromecast and a bunch of other devices. If you use an iPad it won’t let you stream to tv either. Yet they already have other interactive content that does.

Black Mirror's interactivity & "history" is clearly a step up over the previous CYOA "experiences", and its viability on each platform is going to be difficult - how was the Netflix backend implemented when this wasn't a thing, what shortcuts/"straight line" decisions were made by programmers to better serve the typical netflix experience vs long term expansion like this.

It worked perfectly on my Amazon Fire. Perhaps only select (older?) Fire devices are not compatible?

Watched Bird Box with my family (wife, 9 & 14 year old daughters).  We all liked it.  Always amused by the outrage culture.  This movie is being criticized for its sensationalism of suicide and dehumanization of the mentally ill.  Can we please just guiltlessly objectify whatever class of people we want in the service of narrative god damn it!

You'll have to take my drooling crazy people in hospital gowns out of my cold dead hand.
