I'm not sure where I can fit it in before the end of the year, and after my bitter Days Gone debacle I'm left wanting to spend any remaining gaming time this month on shorter and more accessible experiences that I can fit in around my usual December glut of film viewing.

Because I got my new 3060 Ti, I reloaded Control and the Foundation DLC section to see it in 4K with DLSS+RT on high settings and it’s significantly better looking. I expected it to be from the resolution jump but, the ray tracing reviews also showed way better graphics and man does it make a difference. Update: Yeah, I'm cleaning up some sidequests before going on a story run that I'm pretty sure will be pretty linear. This requires me to fast travel all over the place, across the map, etc. Load times are negligible. I cannot imagine doing this on a PS4. Would be super annoying.

What life path did you choose? I put 2 hours in. The city itself is amazing so far. Little touches like sitting down in a booth to talk to a character and being squeezed in as you do by another, and while the character is talking to you, being able to look at the guy squeezing you and say something to him is minor, but really adds to the immersion in a way haven’t seen in an open world game. And on my Pro, it looks good, load times are normal for what it is. One glitch so far, a random guy had his cellphone suspended in air next to where he was talking on his cell phone.

Started it this morning. I’m 1.5 hrs in so not much but, wow is it impressive. The game is insanely good looking and I’m constantly just oogling the environments I’m liking the combat and intro to the story so far but, all the various systems are a little overwhelming at the start.
