So I was digging through my boxes of old stuff today, and I came across these. I have all the cards #2 - 50 (number 1 is missing!) The face has the cover art(?) for the game, and the back has a brief description of the game and Tips/tricks for playing the game. Nope, read the next sentence again Joey. The market price is what it is, regardless of whether you paid the MRSP or not. Every single one of you who only paid "retail" for the 360 is sitting on much more money than that right now. You know full well that you could box up your system, put it on Ebay, and easily get the $850 or more that Splunk is trying for. The opportunity cost of keeping the $600 system is $850. But, you don't mind because you get the extra utility since you are a hardcore gamer. Others, like me and Splunk, would see the $850 hanging in front of us, and the opportunity cost of keeping would not be offset by the intrinsic value of keeping the system. Carlos.

c'mon Dean, he's not really hosing anyone. Whether you know it or not (and I know that you do), EVERYONE is paying market price for their 360. Even if you only paid $400 for a premium, you are still sittiing on much more $$$ value, because the market *Is* paying more right now. In Splunk's case, the opportunity cost of additional money lost by keeping the system is much more than the actual $600 paid. It just so happens that nearly all LCVG'ers place much more value on the system than the market value is worth. If you didn't place the additional value on it, the opportunity cost would overcome, as it has for Splunk, and you would deal it. I don't begrudge you your decision to sell at a premium Splunk. It's basic econonomics and smart. Smells like Capitalism. And that never stinks. Carlos.
