Starhawk
I was screwing around today and thought it would be a good time to take some pics of my current (and hopefully very temporary) setup. Here it is put back together. That's a couple of Infinity RS-5s and a Infinity CC-3 center channel. I do not, I repeat do not like this room's seating arrangement. No scratch that... I HATE this seating arrangement. But I'm living with a friend for now and it's pretty much his place and furniture, so I just move the couch or something when I watch my setup. Got a couple of Infinity RS-3s for surrounds. -Gamecube -Toshiba M-752 VCR -Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3100 HD -Sony DVP-S300 DVD Player (circa 1998) -Sony 30ES Receiver -XBOX DVDs. Games not pictured. SPECTACULAR! I notice there's a little blue halo around her body. Weird. That's not visable on screen.
rustyjaw
That's an interesting picture with the front off, I never really considered where the projection was originating...so are the three assemblies each for R,G, and B? Looks like a nice place, despite the odd seating, wish I had that much room Nice DVD collection. I think the blue halo is caused by the camera, it could be a color that's beyond the gamut of the camera's CCD...or it could be color fringing from the lens. Chatakinns
Very nice. I like that shelf unit. But with my fat assed cats thinking the receiver is a kitty butt warmer, we don't dare use one that is not enclosed. Tis bad enough they think the router is made just for them. Angry the Clown
I still marvel at these TVs so many of you have. What on earth were you actually doing to it in the first pic though? That's fascinating to see the insides of one of these rear projection sets. That's actually a very nice room, but I can understand the seating frustration. What's that box set you have to the left of the Toy Story collection? Caught my eye, I was just wondering what it was. Daniel
Mark E
Caught my eye, I was just wondering what it was. That would be the Bubblegum Crisis Perfect Collection from Animeigo, unless I much miss my guess.
Guest Bryan
Cameron, Looks like a really nice bachelor setup. That equipment could really impress a date (and I know what I'm talking about ). I am also noticing that the prevailing organizational theme is by studio, then by single disc / box set? There seems to be a little white plastic football under the equipment stand in the first photo that is mysteriously absent from the second photo. Hmm... :green:
JTello
-Nice stuff! -Mmm, where are the games? Side Note: Auntie Muffin, what's up with this sad/cute looking kitten/gremlin thingy?
kelley
that white football was a promotional item given out to celebrate Thrifty.com. I have three of them sitting on my desk right now, they make great attention getters. BTW - If you have travel plans and need to rent a car, please choose from Dollar or Thrifty. Starhawk
Thanks for the comments! That's an interesting picture with the front off, I never really considered where the projection was originating...so are the three assemblies each for R,G, and B? Yeah, three seperate RBG that shine onto a mirror and then back onto the screen. The mirror would be visable if i didnt have the screen half-way on. Mmm, where are the games? They're on another shelf in the bedroom that is covered with junk right now. It's not that impressive as it's only filled with Gamecube (and soon a few XBOX games). I also didnt bother posting because my sister Erica is keeping my classic NES, SNES, N64, etc, games and systems company back home. But with my fat assed cats thinking the receiver is a kitty butt warmer, we don't dare use one that is not enclosed. And this one gets unusually warm for a receiver its size. Luckily, I have no cats. Just have my roomates little brown bark box. I still marvel at these TVs so many of you have. What on earth were you actually doing to it in the first pic though? I forgot to mention that it's a Toshiba 50H81. It's similar to sets a few other members have, and I think Kelley was also thinking one from the same series. Since I have moved here, I still had not re-adjusted the Mechanical Focus, Electronic Focus, and Geometry. I also gave it a real good Convergence and Avia/VE touch up. The CRTs were also much dirtier than I thought they'd be, but I think it was mainly due to the move a few months ago. What's that box set you have to the left of the Toy Story collection? Mark was right! It's the Bubblegum Crisis (late 1980s) Perfect Collection. I am also noticing that the prevailing organizational theme is by studio, then by single disc / box set? It's really not in any paticular order right now, but at one time it seemed to have been organized by studio. I did that mainly to get the Warner snappers in one place. There seems to be a little white plastic football under the equipment stand in the first photo that is mysteriously absent from the second photo. Hmm... Good eye to you and to Kelley for knowing exactly what it was.
