The Daisy
Ok, tell me Nintendo doesn't just have me wrapped around their finger. I picked up SMBA 4 on Friday night. By Saturday, I had gone out and purchased a link cable and both packs of e-cards for the game. All in all, I spent $45 bucks on a game I beat back in 1988. I'm loving the new levels that you get through the e-reader though. Glen
secretvampire
Aaaaaaaaaah! Don't make me buy an e-reader! I have been playing SMBA 4 in spurts since last Wednesday when I got it and having an absolute blast all over again. What a splendid game it still is after all of this time. New content would be very cool though. Of course, I could also use the e-reader with Animal Crossing...hmmmmm.
Mark E
Of course, I could also use the e-reader with Animal Crossing...hmmmmm. And to fuel that fire, I've heard unsubstantiated totally unreliable rumors that the only way to get some of the super-rare NES games such as Mario Bros or Legend of Zelda on AC is going to be via the e-reader . Chris F
I picked up MA4-SMB3 on Saturday afternoon. I'm loving it. Brining back the really old school memories. I just wish I didnt need 2 GBAs to use the E-Dards. I have an E-Reader and a Gameboy Player. Will that work you think? **EDIT** I believe Zelda and /or Mario Bros. are in the 4th series of E-Cards for Animal Crossing.
Ryan FB
both packs of e-cards I was under the impression that the SMA4 cards were being done like the Animal Crossing cards, that is, there are two series of cards out right now, but each pack per series has randomly selected cards from that series put in it. I could be totally wrong though. How many cards are there in each pack? Also, does anyone know anywhere that you can pick up the packs for less than $5.99 each?
Sherbz
18 cards in each pack: 5 level, 5 demo, and 8 items. They aren't random, so you only need to pick up one series 1 and one series 2.
The Daisy
It's odd that they aren't random as I'm missing a few of the cards from the complete set. Oh, well. Glen
Ryan FB
Thanks for the info Sherbz. With 18 cards/pack, that makes the $5.99 price a bit more easily justified. :green: I was thinking they were putting in wayyy less than that. Chatakinns
I saw this yesterday at EB on a demo GBASP. Looks really nice, and I am always looking for a time waster at work. I have currently played Pokemon to death, and looking for something new. I am looking at the Harvest Moon game coming out in Nov, but this looks like tons of fun. And I loved it on the Nintendo system. I don't understand what you are talking about the e-reader though ? How does that work ? We don't have one yet, never saw the point in getting it only for Animal Crossing. Someone help please ? Do I HAVE to have one to get the most fun out of the game ? The Daisy
Well, you need to have an e-reader and two GBA systems. (I myself have one GBA and my GB player for my GC.) You connect the two of them together with a standard GBA link cable and you can scan the cards on one system and then link them into your GBA. I hope that makes sense. The Daisy
New e-Reader cards due on December 22nd. http://www.gametab.com/jump.php?39756 Good news. Glen
Chatakinns
I picked this up on sale for $25.00 and after playing it for about 45 minutes, I recalled the first time I ever broke a controller.
Ryan FB
On an SMB3 note, you might want to check out this fairly impressive video - beating the game in about 11 minutes. I'm definitely going to have to try some of the stuff shown the next time I play :green:. EDIT: D'oh...I really need to look at all the threads in General Discussion more often...
iainl
Well, a very nice friend brought me this back from New York last week, and yay - its just how I remembered it, plus some fancypants graphics. Just as hair-pullingly irritating at times, too. Is it a lot more generous with the lives now, though, or am I going slightly mad? I was churning out the extras on the first world like billyo. MrMike
Is it a lot more generous with the lives now, though, or am I going slightly mad? I was churning out the extras on the first world like billyo. I remember when originally playing this I had extra lives like crazy. Running out of lives was never a problem seeing as how there were so many ways to get them.
The Daisy
Plus if you get the e-Reader stuff, you can just scan in as many lives as you want. Glen

The Daisy
Oh, I know it. I do like that you can scan in the items though. Unlimited Tanooki suits is a great thing to see in your inventory. Glen
Mark E
I, personally, would've preferred unlimited Kuribo's Shoe.
