General Zot
Well, me and everyone else in the office here. What a shame that this is just in time to catch Matrix 3 next week opening day and play Crimson Skies/Counterstrike/Ninja Gaiden/??? until my hands bleed. I take comfort in lasting until the ship went completely under, but ugghh I dislike these things. Hope to see some of y'all online later this week, you can enjoy fragging an unemployed dead beat living off the state for a change :green: Cheers! Josh
Enjoy the unemployment, and don't let things drag you down. You'll come out all the better on the other end.
adamsappel
I never lost a job I didn't want to, and always found something better. Hope that applies to you.
Carlucci
What was your job? I didn't see your reply in the poll. Hope you weren't a victim of the IT offshoring frenzy. Take comfort in the fact that the GDP went up 7.2% in the 3rd Quarter, the largest rise in about 20 years, so things are looking up for the economy. Good luck and have fun. When one door closes, another one opens. Carlos.
rustyjaw
Oh, that's terrible. The first day is the worst, IME (having been laid off twice). But honestly, after a few days of adjusting (and getting unemployment benefits) it turned into a really great period for me. I got more reading done in the few months I was unemployed than any other period of my life. And I was a little more selective about finding a job and ended up with a much better one! howiedo1n
Looks as though for the time being we will both be living off the state. See you online for some (while they are away, we can play) killing sprees. Good luck in finding some thing better.
Romier S
God I wish. I'be been contemplating a big upheaval of my life recently due to complete depression and dissatisfaction with my job and career in general. A layoff at this point would be a godsend since Im too responsible (and I have a wife to think about) to just quit without a back up plan..... Well, at least you wouldn't have to hear, "What about the server?!?!" Good luck to you, Snakefish.
Angry the Clown
Snakefish, I truly hope it all works out for the best. Good you seem in relatively good spirits, at least as good as one can be in these situations. Best of luck for finding something new soon! General Zot
Hey folks, just wanted to drop a line and say that I have a new job! A competitor that was looking to buy our dept picked up a bunch of folks, luckily I was included. So now I just hang with the family for three weeks and head back to work in Dec (and how much is going to get done in a new tech job before Xmas?) Anyway, thanks for all the pepping up and comments, appreciated it. Time to knock off Crimson Skies and Vice City before I go back to the grind Best...
