Chris F
http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/avp/ Now I know a lot of people dislike Paul Anderson, but I enjoyed Mortal Kombat, Event Horizon and Resident Evil. Plus the fact we'll be seeing two of the greatest sci-fi "bad guys" on screen together, has me almost soiling myself in anticipation. The teaser is very short, but gets my anticipation up for a full length trailer sometime in early 2004.
Mark E
I think these "match-up" movies are going to be the next "superhero movie" style fad, honestly. Ah well, to each their own. I'd complain about these ideas being creatively bankrupt but given most movies I've seen out of Hollywood lately, it'd be pretty pointless. ChoiceStriker
Heh, my first thought when I read "Paul Anderson" was Paul THOMAS Anderson. You have no idea how confused I was for a second there.
iainl
Actually, its apparently looking pretty good so far. The effects team are based locally (one of the Chalfonts, either Peter or Giles, I forget which), and regularly bring sketches and stuff along when they pop down to our local comic shop; the guy running it is an Alien geek, and keeps giving them discounts in exchange for juicy tidbits. Although some location stuff is being shot in Prague, the studio work is largely based over at Shepperton.

Angry the Clown
Oh I didn't mean I know anything like that, more that it's best I don't voice my opinion on the production as a whole just to save people from roling their eyes as I go off on yet another film rant. I'd assume this teaser is attatched to Alien, is that right? Daniel
iainl
Oh, feel free to rant away. Apart from some good effects work I'm expecting it to suck myself, as I'm consistently anti-action and pro-horror on the Alien front (seriously looking forward to seeing Alien DC tomorrow, in a way I wouldn't be for Aliens, for instance). Angry the Clown
(seriously looking forward to seeing Alien DC tomorrow, in a way I wouldn't be for Aliens, for instance). Me too. We all know Caroline is the one who'll be watching the REAL horror film anyway. :green: Dan

Calvin
I have some hope that this will be good. I happen to like most of Anderson's films (Resident Evil,Mortal Kombat,Event Horizon) so that is a plus. But most likely this will get screwed up. I'll see it anyway. Chris F
New Internet Exclusive Trailer! http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/avp/inte...sive/large.html Yeah, it may suck, but these trailer have me JAZZED. I'm gonna go in with no expectation but a lot of violence, and the fact I'll be able to see two of the most feared creatures in movie history duke it out on the big screen. DAMN those Preds look AWESOME.
Cyberwoo
I'm not expecting much out of this movie at all. I'm sure it will be full of horrid acting and cheesy dialogue like most "summer blockbuster" movies.

kelley
Ok that trailer makes it offical, from the horrible guitar rock, to the really really quick scene flashes...........this movie is gonna blow so hard.
Failsafe
Yeah, I'm not expecting much in terms of acting or story but at least the creature designs and action look good!
Chris F
The story sounds very decent so far, plus Lance Henriksen is in it, and the new Pred designs are amazing. Love the new claws, and face masks. Am I expecting Citizen Kane? No. Am I expecting to be entertained for an hour and a half? Yes.

Chris F
Final Trailer for AVP: http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/avp/trailer/large.html I've got my 10 bucks to be entertained for an hour and a half ready.
TK421
Hell yes it looks silly! But no one can honestly admit that there isn't a draw to having some of the best franchise "alien/monsters" hit the big screen together. This is sci-fi's answer to the slasher flick Freddy vs Jason. (never sat through that one...thank GOD) I actually would like to see this. The question is who am I going to have to beg or treat to a movie just so I won't have to go alone. I know I can't convince the lady of the house to go. I still will have issues with the fact that S. Weaver won't be in this Alien flick. I can't imagin one without the other. I doubt that will keep me from going.
Andy Sheets
I can't say I have any interest in seeing it. Paul Anderson is directing it and he has yet to make a movie I like, and for some reason the concept simply doesn't interest me even though I've never been a snob about vs. movies. Come to think of it, I didn't even like the comic books
Romier S
Now that looks much better. That hard rock trailer really turned me off big time but this new one doesn't look to shabby. Still not terribly excited about the concept (I *AM* a fan of the comics and felt they already had the story down pat) but I'll more than likely give it a viewing. Freddy vs Jason. (never sat through that one...thank GOD) Your loss. Purely cheesy and utterly fun to watch. Loved every minute of it.

Chris F
FvsJ is one of my favorite movies of the past year. And I HATE both franchises. Although if I had to choose, I prefer the "Friday the 13th" series to the "Elm Streets". It was the perfect blend of humor and carnage. It never once took itself seriously, and has some awesome fight and death scenes. I'm hoping that AvsP is as good or better. Just the concept alone of seening this concept on screen has me giddy. I'm willing to forgo plot and character development just to see some kick-ass fights between the Preds and the Aliens. And if they somehow throw a Pred-Alien in there, I'm gonna be screaming like a girl. just out of morbid curiosity....who won? Or was it one of those ultra cheeeessssy endings where it was left open? Spoilers ahoy!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Jason techincally "won", although it was left wide open for a sequel.
