WTB: Windows XP SP2

I am looking for a copy of Windows XP SP2 install disc with a valid install key. I want to use it to install on my Mac. I thought one of the two copies I had laying around was SP2 but they are both SP1.

I know there is a "slipstreaming" method to turn my SP1 disc into a SP2 version but I'd rather just do this the right way. So, if you have a copy of SP2 just laying around (unused, of course) please shoot me a PM.

Note: just to clarify...I need the full version of the OS, not just the SP2 update disc. I also don't think a manufacturer-specific install disc (I.E. a Dell install disc) will suit my needs.

Thanks!

If you have a valid XP key with your SP1 discs, can't you just download the binaries that include SP2 and install from there? You shouldn't need to buy a new key if you already have a license. The only issue seems to be that the loader needs a disc with SP2 preinstalled.

Yes, that is my understanding as well.

If you have a valid key, it shouldn't matter if the disc is XP, XP w/SP1, or XP w/SP2 AFAIK. All you should need is a copy of the SP2 disc and your license key.

I would simply download one off a torrent or something. Or if anyone here has one, just burn a copy of it and mail it out.

Is there a reason this wouldn't work?

Not at all. I was just looking to save some money. I thought perhaps someone might have an unused copy laying around they could dump on me for $30 to $50 or something. Just trying to save some money.

Looks like I'm going to go the OEM route though. I should be able to find a copy for $80ish.

I figured it was probably a cost issue. Just wanted to check. :)
