Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Tonight!!

I enjoy playing with you guys - it's nice to play with good folks who are in my skill range (as opposed to teenagers playing 24/7) and don't take the games too seriously, but...

I may be the exception here, but I have to say that the whole cock/gay banter stuff just kind of wears on me after a while (the fact that it's nonstop on XBL is one of the reasons I don't generally game with the unwashed masses).

I'm not mentioning this because I'm asking anyone to change in the slightest (and I don't mind friendly trash talk at all - I just prefer it to be a bit more creative and less one-note). This is just a heads-up that when it goes overboard I may quietly exit out of a game.

We'll get a good core group of guys going pretty regularly I think, the CoD4 "elite" have already christened the game a failure a scant 18 hours or so after getting it, which is probably a good thing as I won't have to listen to any bitching about complaining about it :tu

Has nothing to do with being "Elite". The game is just not better than the original, IMO. Glad you guys are enjoying it.

Based on what I saw last night, I don't see RSV2 as being as huge leap gameplay-wise from the original (though I love sprint). But that isn't a bad thing for me. There's a lot to love about COD4, but the more deliberate pacing and the cover system of Vegas make for a quite different experience. So I think there's room for both.

Hey, I didn't name names :)

I actually agree with you that it's not better, more of an expansion pack really, I like the new rank up system, the A.C.E.S. system as well as the new sprint button but nothings really new. Really not digging the "clutter" of some of the new maps but overall it's RSV and I loved the first.

At times, I don't disagree. I do my fair share of trash talking/dic/gay jokes for the fun of it (and I hope it's clear that I NEVER seriously mean them). However, I'll do my part to tone things down a bit in that regard. Imagination in throwing out insults is not an issue here.:)

Agreed. I've also no idea what people are on about as far as hit detection is concerned. The game feels identical to the original Vegas in so far as how the guns handle. I can understand saying the feel do the guns aren't to your liking in the Vegas series as a whole (not something I agree with, Call of Duty 4 or not...) but saying they are somehow different in this game is not something I'm seeing at all. It's the same game, in alot of ways to its detriment as far as not presenting much to earn that "2" at the end of its title.

There was a time when Ubisoft charge $29.99 for these "expansion sequels". With GRAW 2 and R62 being the equivalent of R6 Black Arrow and GR Summit Strike - I think it's time they dropped the $60 price tag on these psuedo-sequels and priced them at a more reasonable $39.99 level. I have a hard time saying no to Rainbow Six at the end of the day as I've been an enormous fan of this series since the days of the original R6 on the PC but I think Ubi needs to drop the EA level yearly installment nonsense with these games anymore...
