Ron
Do I not understand television technology? or math? Futureshop.ca has this advertisment/article on the Sharp AQUOS SE94 series where they state: The SE94 series features Sharp's Advanced Super View (ASV) LCD panel, providing a stunning visual experience, with full 1080p resolution - twice that of a basic 720p HDTV (and 1.5 times as much as a 768p HDTV). We're talking about lines of resolution here, right? Doesn't 1080=1.5x720?
Josh
They're talking about total number of pixels.
Ron
1920x1080= 2073600 1280x720= 921600 Hmm... OK, close enough. Thanks!
foogledricks
1280*720=921600 1920*1080=2073600 720*480=345600 2073600/921600=2.5 So yes, 1080p has 2.5 times the resolution of 720p. And 720p is 2.6 times the resolution of 480p. And 1080p is 6 times the resolution of 480p. So there you go.
