We are only a few weeks away folks. July 14-17th. Always a fun time seeing which rumors come true, what surprises are in store, and finding out just which exec makes a fool of himself *cough* Jeff Bell *Cough*

Now the pressing questions

Which Exec from Microsoft will be doing the event this year?. With Allard at Zune, Moore at EA, and Jeff Bell off doing something else, please let it not be Don Matrick or Shane Kim. Will we get a garage band to do The Banjo theme?;)

Will Reggie Kick more ass, and take names later while showing more You tube likes Videos? Will we get more plastic accessories?

How long before Sony's shows actually gameplay footage, before people fall asleep :D Will the Ducks appear?

I know you are wondering the same thing

I have no idea what to expect.

  • Microsoft has been pretty passive the past 6 months. Are they gearing up or are we gonna see a continued slowing of the Xbox initiatve and all the great ideas voiced three years ago
  • Sony has been the opposite. They've been very aggressive the past 6 months. But their largest promises are still vapor. Home. LBP. Kill Zone 2. Video service. Blu-Ray. FF13. It is all coming to a head right now, perhaps as a perfect storm of goodness. Perhaps not.
  • Nintendo has almost nothing on their agenda. More accessory-based gimmicks? More powerpoint slides showing how many grandmas blew $250 on their product? Or will there be some games that excite the games media about Nintendo again? I hope so. I hope Nintendo announces a new iteration of the Wii with 65 nanometer duct tape.

It is possible we could see three outstanding showings, three bad ones, or a mix. Again, I have no idea what we'll be chatting about once E3 comes and goes.

It's a "Marathon" remake for next gen systems. That way they live up to them saying they're going to leave the Halo storyline alone for awhile, while at the same time not really straying from what they know best.

Sorry for the spoiler...

...then again, I'm full of shit!! :lol :P

That could be a difficult sell, since (a) both Marathon and Durandal are on Live Arcade already, and (B) there was some fanboy nonsense tying the Marathon and Halo universes together already, so that's not living up to their "no Halo" stuff either.

Some more from Bungie today during their weekly Bungie update

Future Tense

As a reader, I can only imagine just how frustrating it is to not have any new information just yet. Rest assured, dear vengeful, hypertense reader many things are in motion. Many things. These numerous things include the following:

Major changes to the Halo 3 Online experience

Sweet Announcements

Poignant Clarifications

Certain-point-of-view Truths

Things you will love

Things you will argue about

Things you will make angry videos about

On the 1up show today a few of them seemed pretty sure Bungie will be showing their next halo game (probably without Master Cheif), which they say is a lot farther along then anyone thinks
