CaptainRon
Evidently LucasArts and Activision Blizzard defected from the association. article I dunno if that's old news, but it strikes me as odd that they'd leave the organization. It sounds like the ESA does important work with the game ratings and fighting legislation that would otherwise limit game content, and these two companies decide not to contribute and reap the benefits. Anyways, I dunno what proportion of gamers are pro or anti ESA, but it seems like more defections could weaken the association and the industry would suffer, Nash equilibrium and all that rot. JoeyN
Its old news. Activision dropped out and wasn't at E3, along with a few other companies
dogbert
these two companies decide not to contribute and reap the benefits. It's not about not contributing and reaping the benefits, it's about what the ESA does with the large contributions, its image in the community at large, and the value of its representations.
