James T
what's this $80 mil 5-year deal the Yanks are offering to Burnett? If true, I don't see another team offering more, so one step closer to seeing AJ in pinstripes.

exile
The Dodgers could very well pay CC his money if they are out of the Manny bidding. Paying big money to AJ Burnett is suicidal for the Yankees. Didn't they learn from the Pavano contract?
Angel P
Except Burnett may actually have a set and try and get on the field.
Paul
Moose is retiring. Announcement to come later in week. I don't like the idea of signing Burnett, but much like Pavano, he is sought by quite a few teams, including the Red Sox, just never know what you will get. exile
Greg Maddux is retiring. A true legend. More wins than any active pitcher. Tied for 18 straight 15 win seasons with several other legends. More Gold Gloves than Brooks Robinson (arguably the best fielding 3rd baseman ever). If he is not a first ballot hall of famer, I don't know what is.

JoeyN
I respect Maddux a great deal, watching all those years with the braves. I actually saw him pitch in his rookie year with the cubbies. I was 6. How crazy is that
exile
No doubt. In a league where roids are the rage, no one ever questioned him or his integrity. He should get in just for that reason. Anytime someone does something great, they get questioned.
