foogledricks
. "Dudes and dudettes, f***ing WAIT till you see the amazing graphics...just f***ing wait," Jaffe writes. "I ain't no fan boy but this mother f***ing game looks like nothing you've ever played...and you can hold me to that when this thing hits and when they start showing gameplay footage. It looks like a painting come to life -- it's THAT good looking."-David Jaffe http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3171472 Enough said. This game is in my top 3 now. dienekes96
I'll have to read the article at home Websense filters "Games". But GoWIII is tied for #1 with RE5. Do they give a release timeframe (like Q4, 2009, hopefully)?
Camp
I'm looking forward to the game but not the Jaffe media show. The guy is hyperbole wrapped in an exaggeration.
foogledricks
They're not ready to announce. This was a leak.
Tonner Cyn
I doubt there is any real danger of this turning into another Dennis Dydack(sp?)/Too Human thing, right?
dogbert
I doubt there is any real danger of this turning into another Dennis Dydack(sp?)/Too Human thing, right? Not a flipping chance, especially since the person doing the boasting isn't actually involved in its development.
dienekes96
So that quote was basically it. It does sound fanboyish of Jaffe, but if the graphics are great...great. It's not his game (though it's a bit of his baby), so I'll give him a pass. I really want this game to be great, and GoW is all about the gameplay. If they pretty up the formula and pay off the end of GoWII, then that will be more than enough for me.
Romier S
First footage of God of War III! 1080 downloadable version and stream as well! Not a huge amount of gameplay shown but enough to get me all kinds of excited. I like the new Lion gloves. They look sweet. I hope they work similiar to the glove in the PSP game.:rock Edited December 15, 2008 by Romier S
EnemaEms
You can also grab the video off of the PS Store as well. 1080p and 720p versions are available. The gloves do indeed look cool. -Dean-

Christopher
So do you think there is going to be online co-op and will they drop the QTEs?
Romier S
So do you think there is going to be online co-op and will they drop the QTEs? I really have absolutely very little expectation of there being an online coop mode for God of War. It's a narrative driven, single player game and I'd be 100% just fine with it remaining as such. As far QTE's? I'd be STUNNED if they dropped them. It's fundamentally tied to the gameplay in the God of War series.
Christopher
I was kind of joking about the co-op but I do hate QTEs!
Graeme
You can see scans of the Game Informer cover story here. Not great quality scans though. Hard to read the text.
OzzelsCousinFred
I dont hate the QTEs but they've grown to be a bit aggrivating at times While GoW is a narrative single player storyline driven game, they could still find a way to introduce co-op though. A second character who could pair with Kratos on one of his quests as a companion/foil adding both narrative depth and challenge depending how it was implemented. (Ex as AI it might compete with you for kills/xp, race ahead challenging you to keep pace. As a player companion it would do the same). Still agree that it's unlikely though. Camp
A very well-done trailer.
dienekes96
I agree...it's a great trailer, and I can't wait to see more. I'm betting (based on the IGN video interview) that this is level one, since it is where II ended. Can't wait to see the rest. By all rights, this should be the most epic thing ever, except for maybe Wagner's Ring Cycle That said, the rubber meets the road on gameplay, and GoW I and II were very playable, so I hope this just continues that. Romier S
You can see it in all of its high def glory over at Gamersyde: http://www.gamersyde.com/news_7545_en.html By all rights, this should be the most epic thing ever If that is indeed, the first level - the game begins with Kratos riding the back of a Titan as it/they climb Mount Olympus to take on Zeus. I don't know how it can get anymore epic than that.:lol Edited February 14, 2009 by Romier S

Derrik Draven
So, being a complete new guy to the whole God of War, thing...is it too late to jump in at GOW 3? They looked so twitchy to me. Are they at the action level of say, Legacy of Kain: Soulreaver or, are they over the top, Ninja Gaiden Black??? Can't get any of the vids to work, here at work. All streaming stuff is blocked. :td
Romier S
Are they at the action level of say, Legacy of Kain: Soulreaver or, are they over the top, Ninja Gaiden Black??? The series veers more towards Legacy of Kain: Defiance but with a higher ratio of combat to puzzles and a helluvalot more variety to the combat. Twitchy is a good description but there is depth to the proceedings. The game is far more accessible than either Ninja Gaiden or Devil May Cry. The narrative is also one of the primary draws of the series for me. It's entertaining as hell, well acted from a VA standpoint and well just downright epic. If you're going to get into God of War - playing the original 2 (and if possible the PSP entry) is a necessity.
Brandon H
If you're going to get into God of War - playing the original 2 (and if possible the PSP entry) is a necessity. Which reminds me, didn't Sony announce a PS2 port of Chains of Olympus a while back? Is that still happening? I would love to play it upconverted to 1080p on my PS3 and 100-inch screen.
