exile
We've been looking to replace my wife's old gateway laptop. We've considered a Mac but the bang for the buck isn't there and I've heard about some issues with Quicken which is deal breaker for the wife. After doing some searching, I'm finding this to be a deal. http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=411882 HP Laptop 17" Screen 1440 x 900 resolution Blu ray Drive 500mb HDD 4 Gig memory Centrino T5800 Core 2 Duo processor Integrated media reader N Network card 8 cell battery Price is $999 What alternatives would you suggest? exile
Other than the processor, that seems like a downgrade 15.4" screen as opposed to a 17" DVD instead of a BR drive 320mb hdd as opposed to a 500 and it's more money. What am I missing?
Robot Monkey
You could get a Thinkpad for the kind of money Dell is asking for.
exile
The HP it is. I'm headed tonight to pick it up. The wife decided. Everytime we found an alternative, the price would be more and we got less. Less HDD, less screen size, no BR drive(though that's not necessary), less battery etc.
