jubjub75
Are there any ways to get a good deal on new Comcast service? I'm going to be getting it at my new place, and just want to get HD/DVR and internet service. All the "special" packages on their site include phone, which I'm not interested in. Any tips/tricks for getting a good deal?
Cyberwoo
Just call them up. Aside from any normal "new subscriber" packages they might have make sure you call and just ask. You'd be amazed what a little haggling over the phone can do especially when you tell them you are thinking of going with Verizon FIOS or comparible alternative. I got them to lower my bill just by calling and complaining about the cost of my bill. Competition is great.
Lutter
Just tell them what you want and they'll tell you what deals they've got going on... Cyberwoo is right about haggling... I called up my company and got my package lowered $60 by complaining about the price. heh.

exile
For me with the deal I got, the phone was effectively free. Internet plus HD and cable was $100 and my package included phone for $100 so the phone was a no brainer.
Carlucci
Hard to believe there's no refer-a-friend program. Jeff, if you decide to forego crappy cable and want to go with DirecTV, let me know and I'll refer you for $50 your bill and mine. Carlos.
