foogledricks
My brother's wife is complaining about loud games. He's looking for a recommendation for headphones. He's going to buy a surround sound system with a receiver that he can plug head phones into. I already made a recommendation for that. But now he needs comfortable, noise canceling cup head phones that don't suck, but also don't cost hundreds of dollars. Ideas? There are so many options. I guess you just gotta try them on to see if they're comfortable for you. But where? Bestbuy? I fear my brother will buy something there on the spot and there is no way they have the best prices. I don't know what to tell him.

Lutter
If you're looking for cheap with big sound, I heartily recommend Sennheiser cans. http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-202-Headphones/dp/B000065BP9/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1234808768&sr=8-3 If you're looking for a cheaper version of the X3 turtle beach cans, there's always the X1 which is wired (and 1/3 the price): http://www.amazon.com/Ear-Force-Stereo-Headset-Chat-Pc/dp/B000HM1GUY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1234809013&sr=1-
Robot Monkey
1. Does it need to be wireless or is wired ok? 2. Headphones ok or does he need a headset, that is voicecomm built-in?
foogledricks
Headphones either wired or wireless. But wireless is more expensive. So probably wired since I assume wireless is insane.

I passed these on to my brother. Now if only my sister in law approves the purchase of all this stuff (included the surround sound system I recommended).
