Romier S
Dumb name, possibly great concept (256 player online shooter with Planetside like upgrades) and some really nice screens... More can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/37044807@N02/sets/72157616227223753/ For those not in the know, this is the new game coming from Zipper Interactive. The guys behind the Socom series.
kelley
Looks good, I wonder what type of server miracles they are doing to actually have smooth 256 players.
EnemaEms
Can't wait to try it. I am glad they went 1st person instead of 3rd. -Dean-
Christopher
I can imagine this happening: Spawn and die 30 seconds later. I find the larger rooms in both SOCOM and Killzone 2 play completely differently than the smaller rooms (limited to 16 people). People in smaller rooms tend to play strategically rather than constant death match. Day one purchase for me.
Josh
It'll be all about level design. Sounds like a TON of fun though. Will definitely give this a try.
kelley
I imagine this will have a very extensive beta test.
dogbert
I imagine this will have a very extensive beta test. It's been going as a closed beta for a while & Zipper have been stress testing it internally for ages... But in the past week or so, Sony's been sending out beta invites to Playstation members... And I just got my invite & code. Woot. Time limited beta, with servers up twice a day for 3 hours a pop.
MrJames
Got my beta code and took the survey. They said not every person who applies will get in. Sounds like it will depend on your internet connection based on the questions in the survey.

Josh
I'm on a bog standard ADSL & I got my code (this is after taking the survey). That might be the point. They're probably testing a mix of connection types to simulate some real-world conditions rather than walk away saying, "See? Works great with all these people on the same connection type." Union Carbine
I got in and did the download overnight. I'll give it a shot later.
Calvin
I also got in & will do the download tonight.

Oh totally; was just throwing out my connection as a datapoint. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Zipper are up to.
JTello
Impressions,... let's hear them! The screen are very pretty, I want to hear how the gameplay is!
GunnerX
Any updates on this? Is it worth going through the Open Beta?
EnemaEms
I'll be trying this out tonight. I completely forgot about it until now. -Dean-

Paul
I tried to play it after a half hour of DL'ing updates and kept getting some error when attempting to join a server, gave up.
EnemaEms
I played it last night and thought it was very "Meh". The graphics are not great at all which makes trying to see your enemies quite difficult. The shooting didn't feel good either. Its got same way cool ideas though, but I think Zipper should of just stuck to making a badass SOCOM game with some of these ideas. -Dean-
GunnerX
I went to download this last night but somehow ended up on MW2.
EnemaEms
If you haven't seen the commercial for MAG yet, you can watch it here. One of the best yet from Sony. -Dean-
EnemaEms
Is anyone here considering this? The improvements they made from the Beta are a good sign that Zipper is really going to support the shit out of this. -Dean-
kelley
I'm going to GameFly it. A bunch of my RL friends are playing it and keep hounding me to get it. Too close to STO though for me.
Romier S
Is anyone here considering this? Nope. About the only online gaming I'm doing lately is Madden and with Mass Effect 2 releasing and Bioshock 2 right around the corner, I don't see that changing at all. EnemaEms
I really want to see the difference between the final version and the Beta, but with both Mass Effects to play, Dante's Inferno, Heavy Rain, Bad Company 2, and GOW3 hitting.....this one will have to be skipped. -Dean-
