Is Taxi Driver still happening?  Sony had a page on their website mentioning it, but last I looked, that had been removed.

I suspect it will, yes. The page probably got removed as they have not formally announced it yet. If we’ve not got a proper announcement by the end of October I’ll bump it down to rumoured.

Interesting on Universal Soldier. I keep hoping StudioCanal will announce Stargate as it’s 25 this year.

Still think it's daft to shove out a 'collection' before he's finished his run of movies, but the Daniel Craig 007 box set has been formally dated for October 22nd in the US and November 11th in the UK. All territories are getting the uncut version of Casino Royale.

Canadian and UK boxes below (US should be same as Canadian without the bilingual text).

Don't know what the HDR specs are for these yet. Fox are handling them on MGM's behalf, so they could be HDR10+ but also quite possible that MGM could request Dolby Vision.

Judging by the box size these will not be individually packaged so I'm personally going to wait until individual releases surface (apparently that's due to happen when the new film comes out). The new film will be a Universal disc release.

I noticed Sony have upgraded Easy Rider to 4k/Dolby Vision on iTunes. It’d be nice if that gets a disc.

There is now indeed a UHD disc listing for Easy Rider in December (via Amazon Italy for now)

2019 Lion King announced for October 22nd (US)

We should hopefully see November releases expand somewhat in the coming weeks as right now that month is largely dominated by Disney, and then hopefully we’ll see an all out explosion of titles from all studios for December.

Disney still have Bugs Life, Monsters Inc, Monsters University and Wall-E to announce to complete the Pixar slate. I wonder if they will appear in December or be left for 2020. I’d like them all. Cars and Finding Nemo arrived today, and Ratatouille, Finding Dory and Inside Out should ship to me this week.

Still wish we could get a 20th Anniversary Tarzan from Disney. 😕

Yeah I would really like a Tarzan release, it's one of my favorite Disney movies. I still need to pick up a lot of 4k Discs, just waiting on decent prices. Phil and I have the older stuff digitally on either of our accounts already so no rush to get them right away. Hoping black friday is better this year then last year.

I’ve never understood why Tarzan wasn’t considered worthy of a Diamond, or now Signature Edition, branded Blu-ray from Disney. It was their last big traditionally animated hit. The Blu-ray has really bad compression issues in places that I’d love to see gone in a UHD presentation.

I hope we get Mulan when the live action version is released. All the post-Aladdin movies should be easiest to release since they were all completed digitally (really looking forward to receiving that disc). It’s a lovely surprise that we’re getting an anniversary Princess and the Frog at least.

I’m sad we didn’t get Cinderella when the Signature Blu came out but apparently it’s the same master as the Diamond Edition with the excessive DNR erasing the line work, so clearly a 4k master doesn’t exist yet (bizarre that they still put out the live action Cinderella on UHD though when they could have held it back to partner with an eventual animated release).

Hopefully that European listing for the 60’s Jungle Book proves accurate. It’s due a Signature Blu (as is Fantasia which I’d LOVE in UHD).

I’m surprised we haven’t had UHD’s of the earlier Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I’d like the first one, provided they don’t beat it with the Iron Man/Iron Man 2 DNR stick. Perhaps those will surface next year as I can see them working to prep then in HDR for Disney+ sooner rather than later.

I hope we get Beauty and the Beast next year. The Blu-ray releases all have a branching error that cuts a shot thanks to Disney’s notoriously sloppy QC This shouldn’t happen with a UHD if it’s a theatrical cut only presentation.

It’s quite possible that once they clear the remaining Pixar titles they will put more time into traditional animated releases as they’ve cleared the Marvel catalogue, which probably leaves Star Wars as their main live action catalogue focus in future (though I’d expect live action Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast as well). I desperately want to see Sleeping Beauty in HDR.

It’ll be fascinating to see what gets 4k/HDR on Disney+ but never gets a disc.
