A thread about Lego

Recommended Posts

I could see a mansion with a little stretching room, corridor, seance room and graveyard party. That would be welcome enough. I think if they were going to make one though they’d have done it for its 50th anniversary last week.

If I had to make a choice between the railroad or the castle I’d take the railroad. For whatever reason that’s more of, or at the very least, just as iconic a symbol to me, and Walt loved his miniature trains. It’s very tempting.

I like the WDW mansion but there’s something extra special about the old south inspired original. That’s what I’d want.

I kind of like that the Railroad set takes inspiration from both Disneyland and WDW.

I'd rather have the Paris one than the WDW one, myself. Looks far more haunted (because it's basically the Addams Family one).

The Paris one is nice, but the concept of the Mansion was always that Walt would take care of the outside while the ghosts took care of the inside, so he never wanted into look abandoned and decrepit. The Paris version is quite radically different to the original though, and is set in Frontierland with story ties to Big Thunder, so its exterior spookiness makes sense.

Visually and part wise, and given how much I loved the fishing shack, the Paris version would certainly be a more striking and detailed set though I agree.

The only way to settle this is to make sets of the original, WDW and Paris designs for £300 each. Do it, Lego Gods.
