Assassin's Creed Odyssey leaked

Recommended Posts

I saw a deal on Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection a couple weeks ago and bought it on a whim. I have no idea why! I've never even played an Assassin's Creed game in my life, even though I already have a bunch of them thanks to Xbox Games With Gold and PS Plus.

What I'm saying is, I can't help you.

Was on external, already moved it to internal this morning on a whim, haven't had an issue since. Weird! Nothing else has had this issue.

Enjoying the game so far, but still very early - just got my first rowboat, that's how early ;) They've certainly smoothed out a lot of the rough edges since Black Flag & honed in on the formula.

I should be playing Doom Eternal this weekend, but somehow ended up splitting time between Forza Horizon 4 + this. Totally engrossing me, in ways no AssCreed game ever has. I'm not fighting crappy stealth + escort missions, instead I'm bad a bad ass assassin, mixing up stealth kills + fights.

Poison + the hunter skill for multiple targets at a time? Yum

Still really early (dealing with a Snake In the Grass at level18) but keep getting sidetracked. :) Others have said it, but the design team clearly has played Witcher 3 and taken the right lessons from it. And the world is so damn huge.

Once you unlock the

cult hunting tab showing you how to get clues and unlock your way to the head guy

the game really becomes amazing.

Only reason I stopped is because it was TOO huge and I would have played nothing else if I let it get it’s hooks in me.

I lost track of the number of hours played on this, but enough to do everything, including all the DLCs.  I'd say that incidental stuff in Witcher 3 probably had more character, but Odyssey is damn good.  Looking forward to seeing what they try next.

Mark, I'm just about to begin the section in spoilers, I suspect, given revelations in the story.

Unfortunately I have to actually work or I'd be playing this some more today :)

Finished up the main quest lines yesterday. Something like 130+ hours in. Will dive into the DLC this weekend.

I have become totally side tracked by the game element you mentioned, @Mark E. Main story is stalled on Athens for now.

Right? It’s so much fun.

I’m pretty sure I’m getting back into this one once I wrap up Trails 3 in a couple weeks. All the activity here has me jonesing for it.

Yeah, that's about where I stalled and started really backtracking and going through a ton of side stuff.

Threw this on for a bit of a lark last night. Remembered my only real problem - there’s too damn much of it.

Spent two hours clearing an area of activities, then looked at the map and wept. And I had 40 hours logged in the damn thing to start with ;)

Oh, so you mean you were just getting started?

Right!? I might try and platinum this out of sheer stubborn arsed bullheadedness :P.

Paid a stupid amount and brought my complete snake gear set up to my level though. Waste of money, but poison is my fave in this game. Archery doesn’t do enough damage for my liking.

I used that gear for a long time.  Changed it up though after getting the heroes set.  Poison is fun!

The damage reduction to your opponent is the main benefit to me. Damage over time is good, being dealt less damage is better.

I'm using the Venom gear, but don't have enough hides to level it up. But doesn't seem to be hindering me ;) I'm at the south of the map, dealing with fake minotaurs +

cultists

.

Been doing a lot of quests for a certain famous Greek philospher, which have been a ton of fun to do. And the level 5 spear upgrades are soooo nice too.

Now dealing with a corrupt Olympic gymnasium :)  And hit what looks like a soft level cap at 50, which opened up a whole new system, on top of the whole new system that opened up at 42...

This game!!

Finished the “Legacy Of The First Blade” DLC this weekend. It’s ... okay. It’s more of the same, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I’m not particularly fond of the story in that it still forces me to make choices that are inconsistent with the character I want my Kassandra to be, which is an RPG sin. And the ending is forced and contrived.

Now, I started the “Fate of Atlantis” DLC — and it is batshit crazy. Enjoyable gameplay. The story is way more sci-fi than is my liking — I love this series for the history, not the weird metastory — but I’m intrigued enough to keep going.

Level 70, 146 hours in.

Yeah, that's the general impression on that first DLC.  The fate of Atlantis is...ok too.  If I remember, there are three areas to it-the first one definitely seems to have a lot more "busy work" in it, but there's some fun stuff in the second one.

I think I accidentally completed the main quest.

On the topic of Athens, late in the game (Chapter 6?), heavily spoiler:

At the beginning of the game, I allowed the plague carriers to live, causing the starting island to get infected. At the end of the athens section, it gets polluted with the plague too. Was this section any different if I had killed the family at the beginning of the game?

Death to more cultists!

This is one of those games where completing the main story doesn't really block the enjoyment of the side stuff, and I think it might have even completed an armor set I used for a bit (the Greek Heroes one).

Not sure whether that choice actually matters, because I went the same way you did.  I did like that it had consequences for that original island though-made it seem like it was actually impactful.

And actually done, this time. Main story resolved, all mythological creatures done, spear fully upgraded, and most importantly, all cultists dead.

I just watched the review for this game. For $19.99 how can I not buy this. Downloading now.

I feel guilty because Gears Tactics has been barely touched yet and now I'm cheating on it.

Brian, I don't think it makes any difference. That part of the game is based on actual history:

Spoiler

Athens was decimated by plague in 430 BC. Pericles actually died from it.

One of the things I love about these games -- how historical events are woven throughout when they are done well.

Thanks, Brandon, I just learned some history!

Thoroughly enjoyed it, if it isn't already clear. I did speed through the last couple of story areas as it was already 70+ hours and I figured enough was enough at level 65.

NewGame+ worth a try, lol.
