Assassin's Creed Odyssey leaked

Recommended Posts

And the last thing I'm doing in this game is that dang pig. Artemis animals down + quest resolved. Done!

I think I might get this game. It’s on sale at the Xbox Store this week (along with pretty much every other game in the series). I can get it for $14.99 on its own or get a bundle with Origins for $24.99.

If I do, I might also get Rogue RemasteredACIII Remastered, and Unity. If I do that, I’ll have all the games in the mainline series. It might be what finally gets me to play them.

You do not need Origins + Odyssey. That's a lot of hours of game. A buddy was asking about buying them today cause he saw I'd been playing, hasn't played since AC2 + wanted to know if he should play the others ahead of Odyssey. There are so many better things to do in life than play all the AC games in any sort of sequence. If you want to play an "classic" AC, play the remastered AC3 I guess? Black Flag is a mix of the 'classic' tropes with a larger open world + pirate ships, and was fun at the time... But Origins + Odyssey are much more of a modern Witcher 3/Zelda BOTW-lite "big world to explore" games without any of the escort/stealth focused silliness of the original series.

Yes, you still sometimes follow people along, yes, you can sneak, but it's not the forced failure conditions + forced "stealth" of the previous AC games. You can go in + kill everyone, every time.

I loved my time with Odyssey. I got to kill a dang big pig.

I might suggest seeing if the gold edition for either is on sale and buy either Origins or Odyssey. But both would be too much. Or get whichever is cheapest now, because they will definitely go on sale again. They go on sale regularly.

AC3 remastered or not is garbage. I’d highly recommend staying away from it. Legit one of the most forgettable main characters in the series and a downright squandered time period that should have been the series most intriguing. My feelings towards it neared insult by the end.

AC4 at least has the naval combat to bolster its otherwise lackluster mission design. If you’re looking for a traditional AC experience that is.

Thanks for the feedback, gents. Just to give you an idea, here is what I already have from the series:

  • Assassin’s Creed (Xbox One X enhanced)
  • Assassin’s Creed II (Remastered)
  • Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (Remastered)
  • Assassin’s Creed: Revelations (Remastered)
  • Assassin’s Creed III (360)
  • Assassin’s Creed Rogue (360)
  • Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag (Xbox One)
  • Assassin’s Creed Syndicate

As you can see, I’m not exactly suffering from a dearth of options here, particularly when it comes “classic” AC titles. I’m thinking my best course of action, if I want to get a feel for the series, is to play one classic game, and one newer one.

From what I understand, the original is a bit repetitive, but the second is big improvement on most fronts. I also really loved big open world games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Horizon Zero Dawn, so maybe the best bet is to play Odyssey. If I enjoy those, I can always go back and play the others. Like @Eldorado said, they often go on sale. I’m sure this is not the last time we’ll see these games at this price.

We’ll see. With all the other games on my plate (hey, I still have to play all the Doom games, plus there’s the block of survival horror titles I’ve been putting off), the biggest question for me is just when the hell I’ll get to them.

This game is great from the start.  They just nailed it from the start.  And based on what everyone’s saying, it just gets better.

That’s great to hear! I’m on Memory Block 5 of the first game right now. I can’t wait to play this one in 2-3 years.

I honestly thought this was so ridiculous that you must be simply making fun of me for being so late to the game here. Then I re-read this thread and noticed that no, you are in fact going back and playing all of the A.C. games. This is kind of stressing me out. Because I could never do such a thing, so I fear you're gonna get tired of this series, and NEVER play the best games in the series as a result. I guess what I'm saying is that you make poor gaming decisions.

The real question I have is how many more Assassin's Creed games will be released by the time I actually get through all the games on my list? Valhalla, for sure, but what about 2021's entry? Do I add those games to my list? What is wrong with me?
