reeldeal
I want to hook my laptop up to my television to watch a vcd of our vacation that we bought, problem is for some reason the video will not show up on the tv screen. I have my computer displaying on my television but inside the windows media player box (or whichever player i use) there's just a black box. I can look at a .jpg in IrFanView or IE but whenever i try to open it with WMP it just shows me a black box. Oddly enough if i open the jpg in IrFanView i can see it, but can't watch video using the same program. Anyone have any ideas? i tried re-installing my video driver (ATI Mobility 3) but besides that I'm lost. thanks in advance, mark
Chris F
Ok, if I'm not mistaken - to fix this, you have to go into the ATI Control Panel and enable the TV output option in the "Displays" tab.
reeldeal
I have my tv enabled as in i can see my background, and all other running programs but for some reason the video itself does not show up (but the window of the program running the video is displayed)
Chris F
Thats the same issue my friend had with his laptop when we were trying to watch 28 Days Later (the UK release). Make sure that you disable the laptop display as well in the ATI control panel. I'll try and get in touch with him to find out exactly what he did. reeldeal
that seemed to have solved it as long as i have only the tv working i can see video. it's when i'm in clone mode that i have a problem. what's the difference between the uk and us version of 28days? thanks
Chris F
The UK release (actually, it was a Finnish relase, now that I think about it) was out WAAAAAY earlier than the US release.
