I'm really looking forward to the score. I like it when Zimmer is really excited about doing a project, so much so that he turns down other ones (Dune is the reason he didn't stick with Nolan to do Tenet), so I'm hoping he goes wildly experimental here and really flexes his muscles.

A glimpse into the soundtrack.....

I want to see no movie more than this one this year. My goodness.

There are other movies this year?

This is not what I was expecting when I clicked on the video, but I liked it. From the comments, it seems like this is just her improvising and not actually something from the movie.

I read on Twitter last night a post stating that on screen it will be titled Dune Part I, but am not sure where confirmation of that is coming from. If true, it would at least imply that Warner are committed to Villenueve's vision for this.

Warner is all in, it seems:

The “Dune” television series prequel at HBO Max has found its new showrunner.

Variety has learned exclusively that Diane Ademu-John has boarded “Dune: The Sisterhood” in the role of writer, showrunner, and executive producer. Jon Spaihts had previously been attached to run the series, but he stepped down in November 2019 to focus on writing the script for the second of the “Dune” reboot films.

The show was ordered straight-to-series at HBO Max in June 2019. Set in the universe of Frank Herbert’s epic “Dune” novel series, “Dune: The Sisterhood” is told through the eyes of a mysterious order of women known as the Bene Gesserit. Given extraordinary abilities by their mastery of the body and the mind, the Bene Gesserit expertly weave through the feudal politics and intrigue of The Imperium, pursuing plans of their own that will ultimately lead them to the enigmatic planet Arrakis, known to its inhabitants as Dune. It will serve as a prequel to the films.

Denise is scheduled to direct the pilot and Jon Spaihts is mentioned as once being the person to run the show but he dropped out to write the second film (he co-wrote the first). Definitely bodes well for the future of Dune.

One last thing to add - I think there’s some serious slight of hand going on in the trailer. It’s very much pushing the Paul/Chani relationship which is obviously necessary as she’s a major character but I don’t think she’s going to be in the movie nearly as much as the trailers make her out to be outside of Paul’s visions. Also, there’s an interesting shot of someone from behind with the maker hooks. If that’s Paul, that’s pretty deep into what I would consider the second film so I’m intrigued there…

I’m guessing the climax of this film is the fall of House Atreides as we follow Paul and Jessica into the desert as they join the Fremen. We may get some initial interactions with the Fremen as they settle into their society but otherwise, I feel like some of those shots aren’t in the first film.
