kelley
Why didn’t any of you tell me how good Schitt’s Creek is. We have burned thru the first two seasons. Whooter and Camp

I'll tell you why Schitt's Creek didn't get any play. I remember watching the first trailers and it looked terrible. Like, really, really bad -- a corny and childish mess. I'm very surprised it has received such acclaim. They must have reformed it, or else the original trailers were just very poorly done, and not at all indicative of the seeming brilliance of the show. (327) Schitt's Creek Season 1 Trailer - YouTube I do plan on watching it now that I've heard it's good. Carlos.

I binged all 6 seasons recently and there's some seriously funny shit on the show. Dan Levy in particular is hilarious. It's very much a fish out of water setup but its 4 fish out of water in a very fucked up situation and they use the setup well.
Camp
Better than the humor is the arc the series takes from a mildly bumbling and generic sitcom (season 1) to a stealth vehicle for love, openness, and acceptance. It ends up being a lot more than just a few laughs. Romier S and Whooter
Dimness
I'll put this on my to watch list. Finally got around to The Queen's Gambit. They did the Hollywood thing again where part of the story takes place in location, but they actually filmed in another. New Circle Road my ass. It got the same reaction from me when I'm watching the movie Kentucky Fried Movie, you see a shot of the Statue of Liberty, but the title says Hong Kong. It's that same feeling. JoeyN
Almost every every movie that says NYC... The subways are always wrong, or the put elevated trains in places where there are none. Or when the local hospital and Burger King here in queens,ny everyday were in Chicago for The Big Sick. Dimness
I'm not really slagging it. You got to love a movie where the most horrifying thing in the world is to send someone to Detroit. That and the slideshow where you refer to someone as being tough and ruthless... only to follow up with a description that says rough and toothless. Magness
Wandavision - I watched the opening 2 episodes but, it’s not a great start IMO. Very “goofy” in tone with no explanation at all but I am curious to see where it’s going. The Stand - I’m only 3 episodes in but it’s not bad so far. I can’t say its really amazing or anything and I don’t like all the jumping around to different times but, not bad.

I don't have a lot of fond memories for that era of Yank TV sitcoms as I have little history with them. My wife's digging it more than I expected (mainly because of the Bad Mom's connection and her love of I Love Lucy). I have zero history with the alleged inspiration comics. But I'll keep watchin'. Romier S
If it is indeed based on “House of M”, it will go to interesting but very different places.

kelley
Finally watched The Queen’s Gambit. I don’t get the huge hype it has had. That’s not to say it’s bad, because it’s good. I feel like I’ve seen this story many times, just this time it has chess in it. Starhawk

Really excited to see where it goes from here. I could probably Google this, but is this Lupin based on the old 70's/80's anime? I started Wanda Vision, and I'm digging it. I started a season 3 binge of Cobra Kai. Took 6 Coors bottles and 21 spicy chicken wings. Not bad.

Yeah, Anna Taylor-Joy dancing in her underwear didn't do anything for me either. I don't know if I'm suffering from depression or if I've just turned into a curmudgeon, but when she was parading around in her panties, I kept saying, "BOO! I don't want to see this. Get to the chess!" Whooter, Magness and kelley
Kranix
My wife and I really enjoyed it. I thought it started and finished particularly strong. There were some stretches through the middle that weren't my favourite, but overall I'm glad I watched it.

Agree completely. I was about to give up on the show until the last 5 minutes of ep 3, and 4 was terrific! Magness and NickC
