kelley
He was only 67, I thought he was much older than that.
Angry the Clown
That’s sad. He was so unique with a comic persona that skewed so much older than he actually was, which is surely why I feel surprised to see he was only 67. My mind often wanders to favourite lines of his from various movies (I hear Iago in my head a lot).

Popular Post Camp
I worked at Toys R Us back in the late '90's to early 2000's. One year, we had our annual company leadership meeting in NYC. Typical corporate leadership event where you spend all day in horrible workshop style meetings. The big theme was something around a new baby product initiative. So many of the meetings were about understanding our customers who are expecting a child so we could sell them more crap. The keynote event is on the evening of the last day. This is where company sanctioned alcohol is poured and where the organizers hired various entertainment acts to get us motivated. The act they hired to send us home energized was none other than Gilbert Gottfried. I think the Toys R Us team responsible for hiring him had never seen his stand-up. If they did, they must have thought he'd tone it down to PG levels. Nope. He proceeded to use the next 45 minutes to roast Toys R Us in front of the entire company. The tables full of executives were clearly stunned. Gilbert had done his homework and tailored his shots at the new baby initiative, and the top 4-5 executives. It was magnificent. jubjub75, Romier S, Brandon H and 4 others
Brandon H
Oh, I wonder which Vice President marketing or Comms got fired for that? They probably paid him well into five figures to get skewered… Camp
Dimness
R.I.P. My weirdest memory of the dude was him hosting U.S.A.'s Up All Night, and there was this one segment where he spoke in the most normal tone of voice ever. As a kid who was used to his voice in Aladdin and his stand-up, that was a shocker. It was like that time in the Nanny when Fran Drescher ate wasabi and didn't have that nasal tone.
