kelley
http://www.gamespy.com/previews/january04/.../swbattlefront/ The thought of this on Live sends shivers down my spine. Man I hope they figure out a way to do full rooms of 32 people.
blackcalx
I was reading about this in one of the recent copies of GamePro. Of course it screams Battlefield 1942, but in my opinion that is not a bad thing at all. The addition of one unique class per faction is a nice touch. I'll be poised and ready to pick this one up on release day.

Romier S
Yeah especially since they did Ruffneck's favorite game, Clone Wars! :lmfao: Well yeah that was the point. It makes you wonder how in the world Full Spectrum Warriors looks to be progressing so damn wonderfully. I'm not exactly very excited about Battlefront. The overall concept is good and its definitely got potential to be a good game but the afformentioned proficiency with the Star Wars license along with just an overall feeling of blah I get with those screenies just doesn't really tickle my fancy just yet. Chris F
http://www.lucasarts.com/games/battlefront/ Trailer availble! Shows some in-game footage too. Looks nice, although I don't know what platform the footage has been taken from. Does anyone else think the game is going to be 3rd person? Angry the Clown
Does anyone else think the game is going to be 3rd person? It is entirely third person. Works quite well in the demo on disc 4 of the Star Wars dvd set (just plop disc 4 into your xbox as I've er, notese elsewhere ), but their didn't seem to be any button to revert to first person view (even in vehicles). A lot of the more recent footage I have seen of the game actually seems a lot better than the demo on the Star Wars DVD so pending whether you play the Endor demo prior to buying it, the demo may not be a very good example of all the elements. Recent footage shows the game to be a lot smoother in character movement I think. That demo on the DVD is still fun mind you. Dan

blackcalx
I'm still waiting for reviews before I decide for certain whether or not I'll buy this one. I'm truthfully more excited about Tron 2.0: Killer App just for the possibility of playing some Disc Arena and Light Cycles with you all. Same here, although if Battlegrounds reviews well, I might be tempted.

Beer Monkey
http://www.homelanfed.com/index.php?id=25793 Sounds like a solid game in the single-player campaign mode.
Beer Monkey
Here are some must-see, long videos for those who may be on the fence about this game: http://www.xboxyde.com/news_1024_en.html I'm optimistic...it looks like it could be pretty fun if we get a good group together. Beer Monkey
Stolen info from Game Informer review, recapped on official XBox forums: Concept: An epic frag-a-thon that allows players to experience the legendary StarWars battles first hand. Graphics: Given how much action is on screen at once, this game is surprisingly gorgeuos. Sound: The soundtrack and battle sounds are phenomenal. This is also one of the best games for voice chat. Playability: Fast-paced and explosive. Controlling vehicles can be a bit frustraing, however. Entertainment: This is the experience that StarWars fans have been clamoring for. Replay Value: Moderate Good things they said about the game. -Virtually ever StarWars battle is playable -Big sence of epic battles -Lots of vehicles/variety -Gameplay is very entertaining -Controls are perfect -Perfect for online play Negative things they said about the game. -Certain characters classes move too slow and it takes them long to get places -some vehicles are a bit sluggish They also pretty much said the game is only good for online play. Single player will "hold your interest for a few hours tops" but "you'll fall head over heels" with the online. One thing I found a little odd is that there are no in-game leaderboards. You have to go to http://www.lucastarts.com to see player standings. (odd) They also said the only real difference between the PS2 and Xbox versions are PS2 has 16 players and Xbox has 24. (Graphically, they're almost identical)
Parrish
Any word on how many players the PC version will support?
Guest Bryan
Thanks for the links, Michael. The game looks fantastic. How cool will it be to have five of us in the Republic Gunship as it flies over the battlefield and wipes the enemy out? The variety of worlds, weapons and vehicles looks to be outstanding. My copy is paid for!
Beer Monkey
FYI, the game informer review gave it an 8/10, which of course has some people in a panic and saying they won't buy the game. But they rave over the multiplayer. Any word on how many players the PC version will support? I think it's 32 but I'm not sure.

Atomic Dog
I'm really interested in this game, but I don't have X-box live capabilities. I'll have to wait and see what people think of the single player stuff before I pick it up.
