Obnoxious
I got sent a link for a video about sega, and a beta tester who found some "faults," in a new first person football game of theirs. I've posted a link for the site, check it out, I'd like to know some thoughts or opinions? http://www.ifilm.com/filmdetail?ifilmid=2483630 P.S. You might also want to check out http://www.beta-7.com (some pretty interesting stuff there.)
dogbert
It's a piece of guerilla marketing by Sega, I remember it being discussed right around the time of ESPN NFL being released. It didn't get much real coverage from anywhere to be honest.
Robot Monkey
This rumor/allegation was started before ESPN FB's release (like you, I did a search and couldn't find the old discussion). I read the Beta 7 stuff, a news article online, and Sega's response. My suspicion at the time was that this is cut from the same cloth as Audi's "sudden acceleration" problem that 60 Minutes helped invent. -j
Sam P
The Beta 7 site said that the 1st Person View was disabled upon release of the game, and would be unlocked by a patch via XBOX LIVE. For those who have the game, did this happen? It doesn't mean anything even if it did, but I'm curious nonetheless.
Darius
1st person view was in the game from the get go. This site is just a BS marketing scam. If you watch the videos its pretty easy to see how far fetched they are.
DaveC
That was actually an independant film that somebody did for a class project, thats what ifilm is all about so it was done just for fun..not bad for an amateur .
reeldeal
the stupidest thing about beta-7 was that no one really cared about it, but everyone still went there just to see new screenshots, videos, features, etc. the bullshit story just made you feel guilty for visiting such a silly site.
