The Daisy
Why is it that I like these games more than the Links style? New Hot Shots info Looks like it's going to support an online tournament mode for up to 20 people. If it's got voice chat built in as well, I think we'll all be pretty happy golfers. JTello
That's a nice looking title Glen. It would be a nice change of pace from Links. No PS2 for me though.
rustyjaw
I might be into this if it offers enough new features over the last Hot Shots, which I enjoyed.
Ktulu
Funny I was just going to make a post about this game. Nice to hear that there are going to be a lot of courses, hopefully you can create custom golfers as well.
Orpheus
Very nice, I'll surely be picking up this title. I've always liked the series and adding in online support with voice will be jsut that much better.
Guest Bryan
This game is looking really promising! I like the number of courses and character choices. I read up on the game at IGN and it currently does not support voice communication. Players can type messages that show up in bubbles above their character. Also the game currently supports only two players. The preview indicated that these specs could change prior to release - hopefully they will. JohnEBGood
I was rather dissappointed by Tiger 2004, and I have never played this game. I've heard good things though. What makes it fun? Is it totally cartoonish? I'm curious.
Guest Bryan
Good golf physics and some fun animation make HSG3 a nice title - can be had for $15 at BB with the gamer's gift card. I can only assume they improved on the single player in the new game (1,000,000 copies sold in one month - Japan  ) and added online support. Sounds like a wiener. Beer Monkey
I've always liked HSG (and its stepchild Mario Golf), and I'm tempted. I'd really like to see voice and/or foursomes, though. Fingers crossed...
The Daisy
and its stepchild Mario Golf I've always seen it the other way around. Remember NES Open for the NES? That game played a good deal like the original Hot Shots did... Glen
Beer Monkey
Hot Shots definitely had its influences (like other console golf games), but Hot Shots 1 and Mario Golf (N64, Gameboy Color) are very close...it is damned obvious that Nintendo had hired the Hot Shots developer (Camelot) to write them. The Daisy
Yep. I hear you there. Camelot makes quite a good Golf game, but so does Clap Hanz as well. Glen
ChoiceStriker
I've got to say - I love HSG3 so much, I'd pay full price for just three more courses in the sequel. I do wish they would stick with the original Japanese character designs instead of those god-awful American bastardizations in HSG3 though. Blech. Guest Bryan
The game should be fantastic. There are 15 courses and 34 characters. It looks like we'll have to use Live for voice - Sony's site says the game supports the network adapter, but not the headset. Street date is 8/17/

The Daisy
Very pretty. I think I need to crack out my copy of Hot Shots 3. Glen
Gary P
Just wanted to give you guys a heads up, I got an email this evening to get into the beta test for title, so keep an eye on those mailboxes. w00t Gary
The Daisy
Sweet! I'm in on the beta as well. Glen
ChoiceStriker
Me too! We are DEFINITELY going to have to get together and play some of this when we get our kits.
howiedo1n
I got in too. I never played a Hot Shots before, but I am really looking forward to the Beta. We need to get together for a few rounds when it comes. Any idea when that might be?
Beer Monkey
Any word on foursomes?
ChoiceStriker
Howie: I believe the site said within a few weeks. When I got into the RE:Outbreak beta, I was surprised at how quickly it arrived. If you're even the least bit interested in golf games, you should totally pick up HSG3 at the greatest hits price. It's one of my favorite PS2 games in any category. Plus you'd have the chance to practice before you get the beta!
shine5555
Could someone please let me know how to become a beta Tester? I would be interested in this for any of the three systems. Hot Shots golf is one of my all time favorites. I cannot wait for the new one Thanks, - Scott
Gary P
Scott, As far as I can tell you need to do two things: 1)Sign up over at Playstation Underground 2)Once a member there is a tab called 'beta program' soewhere on the site. You'll need to supply some more info and register your network adapter That should pretty much make you an active candidate for most Sony sponsered beta programs
