Romier S
Just One of the Guys (1985) (Columbia/Tri-Star) - Really guilty pleasure but her brother Buddy is an absolute riot. Oh and Sherilyn Fenn too Kiss, The (1988) (Columbia/Tri-Star) - Really terribly B horror movie that I used to watch over and over again. Don't ask me why I like it, I just do. Oz: The Complete Third Season (4-DVD Set) (2000) Richard III (Criterion Edition) (1955)

Hank Scorpio
Dave Chapelle's Show Season One will do it for me this week. And Wisconsin Death Trip will get a rental. Local history is always interesting, plus DJ Shadow music is on the soundtrack.

Oh and Sherilyn Fenn too Watch out, Romier. Just One of the Guys is not OAR. Columbia-Tristar unfortunately does not see it fit to release this great 80s flick in its proper format. I'd buy it in a second if it were. Another light week for me.
The Daisy
Chappelle Show: Season 1 for me. I'm debating picking up the first three seasons of OZ with the deal they're running at Best Buy this week. Glen

exile
Matchstick Men is awesome and worth a blind purchase. I will be buying it since I saw it in the theater.
adamsappel
amazon.com has History of the Cinema for $5.94 (standard shipping is $2.98). The 12-disc collection includes: The Beloved Rogue The Birth of a Nation Cabinet Of Dr Caligari Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde The General The Hunchback of Notre Dame Intolerance Metropolis Nosferatu, The Vampire Orphans of the Storm The Phantom of the Opera The Battleship Potemkin That's a film school course right there for less than $9. Angry the Clown
I've had my fingers crossed all evening that Amazon will actually honuor their mistake in pricing on that set. They're re-issues of the old Kino releases I have been informed...... for $6, if honoured, one would be a fool to complain regardless. Ryan FB
I'll definitely be buying The Dick Van Dyke Show Season 3, and possibly Chappele's Show Season 1. Matchstick Men would be a blind buy for me, I might get it at Target's $16.99 price. I'd be all over that History of Cinema set, except I've never once had a pricing mistake (or in some cases a legitimate low price...*glares at BestBuy.com*) honored, so I wouldn't want to give the rest of you my bad luck by trying to preorder it now. Angry the Clown
Little bit more on that 12 disc Classics set. It's coming from Delta Entertainment, a budget licensing label. No real sign of how good the content will look in which case. Daniel
iainl
I'm tempted by the Greenaways, db - Have you confirmed OAR? Greenaway has suffered horribly in terms of full-frame only releases in the UK in the past, which when fancy cinematography is his calling card is just bizarre. Iainl, a review of The Draughtsman's Contract is here and A Zed and Two Noughts is here. They're both nice anamorphic transfers and loaded with extras, including great commentary tracks by Greenaway. Instead of buying these individual discs, I would recommend getting this French box set, which includes exact ports of these DVDs, plus the two discs of Greenaway's short films released by the bfi a few months ago. Carlucci
Spy Kids 3 for my kids. It'll be interesting to see how the 3D goes on the smaller HT screen. In the theater, the 3D was great for pushing images deeper, but not so good at bringing things forward. Anyway, my kids loved the movie, so I'll get it. Wonder how the rental outfits are going to handle renting this movie, and the inevitable non-return of the 3D glasses. Hope they got extras. Carlos. General Zot
Spy Kids 3 for us. Gotta give props for someone releasing an actual 3-D movie in today's day and age. Chappelle's 1st season is going to the Netflix queue as soon as it shows up
Jordan_E
While having 3-D on the projector seems awful tempting, I think it'll be another week without a purchase. Saving money this way, at least.
