Camp
Did the Sega Neptune (or some version of it) ever see production? The Neptune was a Genesis with the 32x adapter built-in. I remember it being announced but don't recall if it ever actually made it into stores. Just hoping someone will refresh my memory.
kelley
no it never saw the light of day. EGM a few years ago did a really cruel joke and said that Sega found a few thousands built units and were selling them for $199.99 at the site http://www.seganeptune.com. Well when you went to that site you got the info page and when you clicked to order it came up as a counter and a message that said April Fools. As a collector and hardcore sega fan that pissed me off.
dogbert
I believe it never even existed as a "prototype" as such. I believe the empty shells shown in mags were as far as it made it. And I believe one lucky ex-Sega employee has one such shell, and that's it as far as I know.
Calvin
I remember that EGM joke. I also remember being just as pissed off as gigapower was...
