The Year of actually completing games???

I don't know what's up with me at this point.

I'm only in February, and I've already completed 3 games this year. Ico, Metroid: Zero Mission, and Champions of Norrath.

I'm debating going back to Zelda: Wind Waker to wrap that one up next.

What's wrong with me? I've gone through entire years where I don't finish a game. Why now have I gotten the urge to be a "completionist?"

exile,

Nope. I'm buying more games than ever. For some reason though, I've just been going through a phase where I seem to want to play a game through.

I did start Metal Arms the other day, and for whatever reason... I'm just not into it right now. Probably because of the large differences between a shooter and CoN, my last title that I finished.

Not so much this year but last year I was an animal. I think I finished at the very least 40-45 games in the full year. I bought more games than ever too but for some reason I really had focus when I was playing each title. I usually like to split my time up between several games at a time but during of the down months of last year I would start something up like Otogi or single player R63 and play the dame thing for a few days at a time till they were completed and I just kept doing. Writing and keeping reviews for a ton of those games helped also since I had a purpose but I have to say I'm really satisfied with how many games I actually sat down and took care of. (and yet I still have a backlog :wtf: )

Games have endings??

Hey, being that I was out of touch with gaming for a while in my late teens (just as consoles were really taking off), it actually came as a surprise to me after getting back into games that most of them had endings. I grew-up playing games in arcades where they very rarely had endings. The idea was pretty foreign to me for quite some time...

So far this year, I've beaten the following games:

  • Grand Theft Auto III

  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

  • Beyond Good & Evil

  • Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams

  • Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time(I played through this one a second time last weekend.)
  • Ratchet and Clank (Again, a title that I decided to play through a second time.)
  • Metroid: Zero Mission
  • Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus

Next up is Sphinx and Cursed Mummy. Then along comes March with Ninja Gaiden, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. Yep, that will be a busy month.

EDIT: I updated my list to include Sly Cooper. :green:

Hmm. I'm a pathetic POS. After Christmas I started but did not complete GTAIII, Otogi, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Brute Force. Am currently working on Deux Ex II and just ordered Ninja Gaiden! I'm gonna try to sell back Otogi and Brute Force since the other games are so much more worth it.

Then I still have Amped II, Indiana Jones, and GTA:VC in shrinkwrap. Thank God Half-Life 2 and Halo 2 aren't coming out till the end of the year.

You'll get pittance for both. Not worth selling either IMHO. BF is now a 19.99 title and Otogi can be found for 14.99-19.99 in most places. Most you'd get for each is 9-12 bucks (which to me is personally not enough to sell off a game but that just me ;) ).
