xPieter
I was so proud of my Mini last week that I thought I'd share a photo with you all. I'll preface this by saying that I've only ever lived in CA and FL. I've driven in hail once, but never in snow. Last week I had the opportunity to while driving the High Road from Santa Fe to Taos, NM. While it was a bit nerve-wracking, it was beautiful and wonderous. And if you know me just a little you would be correct to guess that I had Sigur Ros playing on the stereo the whole time, helping to keep me calm and add to the natural beauty. So let's see what you guys and gals are driving. I'll start things off... Edited topic name with modem warning
rustyjaw
I love Mini's, they are just so damn cute. Nice color combo Pieter. There are so many Minis here in SF, it's hardly an exaggeration to say that 1 in 10 cars is a mini here...but despite the saturation, I still can't help looking everytime I see one. I wish the Mini rally car made it into Colin McRae 4, would be fun...I wonder if there's one in RSC2?
xPieter
Thanks for reminding me, Ed. I was going to mention that in my many hours on the road this past week (12 hours each way), I saw two other Minis. One was in a dealer parking lot in Santa Fe, the other was on I-40, just outside of Albequerque. I actually drew a crowd of people at one hotel I stayed at asking about the car. That hasn't happened to me in more than a year. I can imagine the Mini would be fun to have in San Francisco. The most saturated town I've seen is Paris. That place has the additional classic Mini population on its side so that every stoplight seemed to have me sitting next to either an old or new Mini. blackcalx
I'll repost my pictures here, now that there is an official thread for it. 2004 Honda Metropolitan. Not my first choice in vehicles, but it's cheap, stylish and gets me where I need to go:
secretvampire
I hope these don't turn out TOO big, but here goes: By the way, I love the Mini, it seems like a great car. I don't think I could ever see myself in one, but maybe I'll buy one for my fiancee for her next car. Either that or an auto WRX/WRX wagon. Re-edited to fix image sizes. rustyjaw
I hope these don't turn out TOO big, but here goes: Sorry man, but they are way too big. We now have image size restrictons of 450 pixels wide. Your images are 1000. Can you size them down? If you can't, I'll have to make them links. In any case, that's a really nice car too...and nice photos to boot. And Blackcalx, nice color combo too. it matches Pieter's Mini ;-) I like the retro design of the scooter, very Italian looking. MrJames
Do those represent actual size? :green:
rustyjaw
BTW, here's what I 'drive' to work: click image for 1200 pixel wide version (320k)
Failsafe
I'll post some images of my car when I get home.
secretvampire
No problem, thanks for just adding them as links! Easier for everyone I imagine. I'll try to resize them down later when I have access to a machine with some editing software on it. That is a cool scooter too...for some reason, I never would have guessed it is a Honda! Definitely has Italian styling...

merlot
Nice Mini & S2000! I like the hard top. It gets me from A to B, pretty quick too I'd say! My '03 WRX

secretvampire
Nice pictures, merlot! That is a purty WRX. Like I said, after driving my friend's '04 WRX wagon, I would love to buy an auto version for my soon-to-be wife. She is definitely not fit to drive a standard. Unless something with a good compromise (SMG-style) tranny comes along soon...(that isn't an M3 )
rustyjaw
This just in, after further consderation, the official image-size restriction has been boosted to 640x480. Please remember to post a modem warning if you start a 'gallery' thread meant for images. Sorry Pieter, you can go back to your original one if you want. [/b] Believe it or not, it's not Photoshop I used to work in Car Audio and got to work on a number of exotic cars. The one in the picture is a 1998(?) Ferrari 512 TR. If I could get my scanner to work I'd post ones of me in a, Diablo, Jaguar E-Type, 355 F1, etc. There are times when I miss it, but the hours were extremely long and cars were getting smaller as I was getting bigger. Here's a pic of my 1987 IROC (no Italian jokes please ) before it needed a paint job. I've thought about selling it before, but with 60,000 miles and only $27 a year to insure it, I can't let it go. Plus, it's quite fast and I've got a heavy right foot You can see pics of the stereo in my Expedition here. I'll see if I can find some pics of the exterior later. xPieter
That is one sexy little Honda. Re: the image sizes, I made my Mini big again! I added digital snow to the license plate (look Ma, I used Photoshop!) when I noticed everyone had blurred their's out. At the risk of looking silly, what could someone do with a picture of your car and its license plate? Seriously, I'm that naive.
