Chris F
Can you provide a link for this info?
iainl
I've not found any website links yet, but its been confirmed by two people I know on another forum, one of whom works for one of the decent UK mags. They're expecting a 'proper' press release later today. Makes sense to me - while PES is a huge, huge UK seller on the PS2, overall sales numbers still comfortably give EA's FIFA the nod, because it has the XBox market to itself. Konami have already done a Gamecube port for Japan, so a European XBox version isn't that surprising.
dogbert
Eurogamer have a story up on it, apparently Konami sent round a press release with zero hype so it was a suprise to everyone. Best XBox news I've heard all day
Graeme
http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/03/12/news_6091327.html Good news! I've been itching to try this series out for awhile, but have no access to a PS2. Hope it makes it over to North America too.
Angry the Clown
Ooooh terrific news! I take it it'll be more in tune with the PC incarnation then? I heard that wasn't much of a significant improvement over the PS2 one mind you... Anyone played both? By the sounds of the Gamespot article actually, it seems likely that it will be this years Pro Ev release no? A simultaneous Xbox, PS2 and PC release for it in the autumn perhaps. JohnEBGood
I have always been a Fifa fan, but I have ben hearing lately that EVO is a much better game. How much does it take away from the game that the players and everything's not licensed?
dogbert
Not a thing, for me. The gameplay is much much deeper & better than FIFA which more than makes up for it.
JTello
I have always enjoyed soccer games, but the sport itself is does nothing for me, thus the lack of player names and licenses is a non-issue for me. Now, throw Freddy Adu in there and I might be interested in player licenses. I'd love to take Freddy Adu and lay the smack on the Bend'em like Beckham dude! Angry the Clown
Indeed. I can't stand football or the mass hysteria that goes with it, but a good game of it on the computer has always been appealing for some reason. The Fifa series seems to try too hard in covering all the licensed basis, and so much emphasis goes into that and the presentation that the game physics suffer somewhat. The Winning 11/Pro Evolution series appeals to me the way Sensible Soccer did back in the 16-Bit days.... It's just brilliant really.
