Angel P
Anyone pick this up yet? Playable demos are Breakdown, Colin McRae Rally 04, Terminator 3: Redemption and Scooby-Doo Mystery Mayhem. I was shocked at how much they praised The Chronicles Of Riddick. I mean, I hadn't heard of this game and they're practically calling it the next Halo. Wow. It does look good, though. Also in the mag: - 10 things you don't know about Blizzard's next masterpiece, StarCraft Ghost - Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow multiplayer strategies - Star Wars Republic Commando - Halo 2: multiplayer in action and the latest info a game I've been looking forward to received a good review: EA Sports Fight Night 2004 = 8.9/10 and they review the baseball games: 7.2/10 = All-Star Baseball 2005 8.1/10 = ESPN Major League Baseball 9.1/10 = MVP Baseball 2004 So, you were right Bruce. I'm picking up MVP.

Halo 2: multiplayer in action and the latest info So is it just that one multiplayer screenshot that they released last month? Carlos. Romier S
GameInformer drooled all over CoR also. Usually I dont much care for any of the hype these mags tend to throw at some of these licensed games but Starbreeze (developers of Riddick) handled Enclave which I really thought was a great game. I'm hoping they pull a repeat on Riddick (I'll be holding my breath on the next Halo nonsense.....Brute Force anyone?) Breakdown, Suprisingly pretty decent. Wasn't fallling over myself for it but it tries to do some very different things with the first person perspective and its execution is fairly well done. It was decent enough to get a preorder out of me. (of course the free copy of Dead to Rights at EB helped ) Scooby-Doo Mystery Mayhem Just got this for my wife on the Gamecube since she is a huge Scooby fan. We have the first Scooby Doo platformer which was very fun and well put together. Mystery Mayhem is quite different moving into a more adventure oriented affair where you have to collect clues and discover who the bad guy is ala a real episode. In fact the levels are setup like Episodes. Besides a very unstable framerate (at least on the GC) its a pretty fun little game.
Derrik Draven
So, Romier...you're the other guy that liked Enclave! Another great game that sold poorly. I enjoyed it too. Still has some killer graphics. After reading the Riddick article, I'm wondering if the 2nd Enclave engine that they hinted at was, in fact, Enclave II? If so...I guess it has gotten the ax if they're on the 3rd Enclave engine. Riddick does look seriously sweet!!!! As for the Brute Force syndrome, they did hype it up beyond what was delivered but, they didn't QUITE go as far as they are with their glorification of Riddick. Although..."The Next Halo" was on the magazine cover when covering B.F. We'll see... Star Wars: Republic Commando is another killer looking title. Definitely excited about this one as well. Some decent Thief III info BUT.....I'm worried again....they explicitly mentioned that T3 is running just about as shitty as Deus Ex II did. If T3 releases with the same lousy ass performance as DE2, I'm passing on the Xbox version and, I'll have to wait 'till I build my new pc this fall. There's no way I'm playing a game that requires a soft touch, in the movement department, like T3, with Ion Storm's trademark lousy framerates!!!!! :bang: :x Breakdown seemed to be pretty damn cool. OXM gushes over the story, BIG TIME, in Breakdown and, I think I'll have to pick it up just to see what all the hubbub is about.
dogbert
OXM gushes over the story, BIG TIME, in Breakdown So did XBN, they said it's the strongest sci-fi story in a game for a longtime, and its the compelling reason to play through the game. bickle
I certainly didn't find a compelling reason in Breakdown's gameplay, so apparently the story must be really, really good. -Dave
