Angry the Clown
I was just Googling for some articles on the digital restoration on the forthcoming THX 1138 DVD that Lowry Digital is doing for Lucasfiilm, and found this nice Apple interview with John Lowry. They er, seem to have rather a few G5s to do all their rendering work. Click here for the interview. Daniel
rustyjaw
I'd heard about this company, but didn't know any details, very interesting work. So when's the THX 1138 DVD due to be released?
Angry the Clown
April or May I believe. There are conflicting dates but it will be a nice two disc special edition. The DVD debut of "Star Wars" creator George Lucas's first feature, this futuristic tale is the story of one man (Robert Duvall), who struggles to escape from a computer-controlled subterranean society of worker drones that forbids sex and enforces human assimilation. Extras include added footage unseen in the original releases, commentary by Lucas and Walter Murch, the Lucas student film that inspired the movie, two new documentaries, a vintage featurette, a theatrical trailer and more. $26.99 It now carries an R-Rating for sex/nudity according to the MPAA website. There is of course rumour, that even the digital bits supported, of some digital effects enhancement going on with this issue. Goodness knows...
