iainl
I suppose this could be over in Boneyard instead, but its really a PC Help thing. Need For Speed II was great at the time (though I remember liking Need For Speed: Special Edition even more). There's one going cheap on UK Ebay right now, and I'm thinking of grabbing it for nostalgic fun. But does anyone know if it could be coaxed into running on my XP box? Kain rising
XP has a built in "compatibility" mode that sort of emulates previous versions of windows for specific applications. That might do the trick.
iainl
I've played with XP compatibility mode in the past, and its great for conning games into believing they are in Windows 98. But if the game is expecting DOS, then its in for a shock.
Kain rising
There was a thread in this forum a little while back about a DOS compatibility program... lemme see... [search] here it is http://www.lcvg.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2440 Maybe that'll do the trick.
Mark E
If you don't have a heinously fast computer, however, do not bother with DOSBox. I can affirm that having tried it it is extremely slow on older machines. Which makes no sense to me, but there you have it .
