Robot Monkey
No -- I have no PS2! If I got a second console it would be a GameCube. -j
JoeyN
To tell ya the truth ive been thinking of picking up a used Ps2 and a network adapter to try out Res Evil and Champions of Norath online. The HD thing only if the game was good enough would i consider it. capt
adamsappel
At one time, I had pre-ordered it. Then I realized: I don't particularly like Final Fantasy games, there would be nothing but FFXI on the drive (no demos, etc.), the HDD can't be used for gamesaves, and there weren't many games I planned to own which would utilize it, so I cancelled. Maybe if it had some robust Tivo-esque functions, but I don't see how that could be possible.
The Daisy
I need to wait and see what other games might use it before I would pick it up. MMORPG's aren't my thing, so bundling FFXI isn't going to make me buy it. Glen
Failsafe
the HDD can't be used for gamesaves, and there weren't many games I planned to own which would utilize it, so I cancelled. This pretty much sums up the way I feel. Ugh, you can't use it for game saves? :wtf: I know right now that I won't have the time to invest into FFXI so I'll keep my wallet in my pocket until I see what else is in store for the HDD. Chris
Hell no! If I can't use it for game saves then for me there's no point. I'm just not interested in final fantasy games right now.
Carlucci
I have seen speculation (anyone who can confirm please do) that Gran Tourismo 4 will support the HDD on PS2. If that's the case, that will help me decide on getting it. I have no use whatsoever for RPG games, so it's not even a consideration at this point. Carlos. Gary P
Hell Yes! Getting it for free for being a FF11 beta tester Gary
Htide
Hell Yes! Getting it for free for being a FF11 beta tester Same here buddy. This months EGM also states that Socom II will support it.
MrJames
If Zipper releases some decent maps for Socom II then I'll consider it. I really don't have a lot of interest in FFXI.
Romier S
Nope. Not right now. I have Final Fantasy XI on my PC and have no use in getting it on the PS2. The inability to save games and the current limited support gives me almost zero incentive to bother with it. Perhaps later when I see more support for it coming.... Graeme
Like the monkey, I have no PS2, so spending $140 (CND) on it's harddrive would seem a waste.
Guest Bryan
I'm surprised they haven't given out more information about future uses for the HD. No interest here if you can't save games on it.
Big Daddy Bling Bling
The hard drive is such a massive waste. No game saves(except in possible future games), no widespread custom soundtrack support, minimal plans for downloadable content. That said, I have a 400mhz PC so I haven't really been able to play any MMORPGs, but I'd like to try one so I'll be picking up Final Fantasy this week and getting the HDD as a side effect. adamsappel
Apparently, if you have a 50001 model PS2, you have to remove the HDD to watch DVDs.
Chris F
I'll be picking it up. I'm a sucker for all other types of add-ons I never use for my PS2 - *cough*Network Adaptor*cough* - I might as well pony up for the HDD as well. Besides, I bought my PS2 for the collection of Final Fantasy games on it, so I won't be missing out on FFXI.
Calvin
Maybe in the future, but since I have no interest in FFXI, I'll pass for now.
JoeyN
I talked to one of the guys at gamestop yesterday who picked the HD up. He just started Final Fantasy but likes it a lot. However the only other games at the moment that will use the hard drive are Res Evil outbreak which helps with quicker load times and we know there will be Socom 2 maps. Other then that, if you dont want FF there are no reasons to pick up the HD. capt

scobeto
I really don't want to get into a MMORPG with a monthly fee, so I think I will wait until there are some other games that will utilize the HDD, so I voted "Not sure" :|
JoeyN
The IGn review mentions you can use the HD. maybe they were wrong capt
