Chris F
http://www.1up.com/article2/0,2053,1554460,00.asp Though his enthusiasm wasn't so surprising, considering this was Sony's presentation, Charla had plenty of positive things to say about developing for the PSP. "Polygon for polygon," he claimed, "PSP has more power than PS2," and it's apparently easier to develop for as well.
rustyjaw
Good find Chris. Interesting, not too sure about that particular game (I imagine that it's a work in progress), but clearly the machine has a fuckload of power. Smooth 3D environments (although the textures looked suspect, even at handheld size), and really nice particle effects. And the aspect ratio is indeed very wide, which is cool. Romier S
Tha art style reminds me of Voodoo Vince for some reason. Bodes well for the 3D capabilities of the system though.
kelley
wow...those graphics easily could pass as PS2 quality.

adamsappel
Can you say "Game Boy Killer?" If not outright murderous, the PSP is certainly changing what to expect from a handheld gaming system. I imagine Nintendo is rethinking some of their corporate strategies. Minor graphical updates to decade-old sprite games aren't going to cut it anymore. The 2-D game is probably in its decline.
Beer Monkey
Can you say "Game Boy Killer?" If not outright murderous, the PSP is certainly changing what to expect from a handheld gaming system. I still think that the magic price point for a handheld is under $100. I don't see Sony capturing a majority of the market until they can meet that price point. Of course, that may be just their goal for 2007 or so. ChoiceStriker
This reminds me a lot of early tech demos of Malice for XBox. I wasn't horribly impressed by the game itself, but seeing what the system is capable of is pretty amazing for a handheld. I'll be interested to see what ever happens to Death Jr.
MrMike
Looks cool, but then again it wasn't recorded playing on a small lcd display. I'm still not convinced 3d games can play well on such small screens.
The Daisy
That funny that you mention that MrMike, I was thinking just the same thing when I was watching that video. It does look good, but all of that detail goes to waste when you start playing it on a screen that small. Glen
