These rules are complementary to all LCVG Terms of Use and Forum Guidelines, as they are in effect from time to time. As you know, advertising any goods or services for any business purpose is not permitted anywhere, unless explicitly permitted by LCVG.com.

Terms specific to the For Sale/Trade forum include without limitation:

  • Consolidate your topics. You may only have one “For Sale/Trade” topic and one “Want To Buy/Trade” topic at any time. Contact an LCVG staff member if you need a topic title changed. When you make a new topic, include items from the old topic.
  • Do not post complaints or negative remarks about prices. Contact the other party via email if you have an issue with the price.
  • The For Sale/Trade forum is not to be used for any illegal purposes, including the infringement of intellectual property laws. For example, transactions involving bootlegs or CD keys is not permitted.
  • Properly label your topic. The subject of your topic must include a description of the proposed transaction. For example, use "FS" (For Sale), "FT" (For Trade), "WTB" (Want to Buy). As always, do not use misleading topic titles.
  • Only post if you have something you want to buy, sell or trade. Topics designed to gauge interest or reaction to prices are not permitted.
  • Contests, auctions, multi-level marketing schemes and group purchases are not permitted.
  • Transactions involving services are not permitted (for example, I will build you a Mk. 2 Widget in exchange for $100).
  • Transactions involving alcohol, tobacco, firearms or pornography are not permitted.
  • All prices must be posted (unless the transaction is a trade) and in US Dollars.
  • Do not excessively bump a topic. Bumps should be at least 24 hours apart
  • Links to other web sites, including eBay, are not permitted.
  • You must be an active member of the forum to post a FS or FT thread. We require 10 post outside of the For Sale/Trade forum in the month that you want to post a FS/FT thread.

Tips to protect yourself:

1) Always use delivery confirmation, and always keep the proof that you shipped.

2) Always ask for a real name, home address and telephone number. Verify information with a call or a search in the white pages.

3) If you are suspicious of the other party, try doing searches to find more information.

Email or phone the seller if you have a problem. If you feel that you’ve been scammed, you can file a complaints directly with the FBI at their Internet Fraud Complaint Center (IFFC). You can also go to US Postal Service to file a complaint for postal fraud and most state Attorneys General have an online internet fraud complaint form.

If you have any questions feel free to contact kelley via the PM feature (please make sure your PM box is empty).
