Chris F
Anyone have any idea how so setup ICQ 2003b and a Linksys BEFSR41 router so that I can recieve files through ICQ? I can't seem to find any information that will successfully let me do this. I've seen a few pages that offer some info, but I'd like to see if anyone has successfully been able to do this. Buck
AKAIK, ICQ uses ports 24500-24505 for transfers. I think you can actually tell it what ports to use as well (haven't used ICQ in quite awhile). On your router go to the admin control panel---> Advanced---> Forwarding. In here you'll tell the router to allow the above port range to your PC. So, under Ext. Port you'd put 24500 in the first box, then 24505 in the second box. Check the TCP and the UDP boxes, then your IP in the IP box and enable. Let me know if it works.
Chris F
Hmm. Ok, I'll test it out. Is there anything in ICQ I should change settings for?
