XBox Wish list

Here are a few wish list items that I would change on the Xbox:

1. Every game have a menu option to access xbox dashboard, to go in and out of the dashboard quickly an easily.

2. Live Aware

3. Download games-whether it be demo's to try out a game or maybe even full versions of games at a discounted price so that youre not paying for packaging. I realize that creates a problem with copying games etc, but would be cool.

4. Multiple disk changer-ability to keep several games accessible in the xbox and switch over to a different game remotely

5. Update dashboard items through pc.-the ability to add a friend via the pc would be alot easier. Then the next time you boot up live it would sync with your PC.

Just a thought. Exactly how do I get these thoughts across to Mr. Gates? ;)

All good ideas, Bruce.

I especially like the Dashboard and Live Aware points. It would be so much handier to be able to access the Dashboard without ejecting the game. Hey, I'm sitting down dammit, don't make me get up! :green:

Pandora REALLY needs to be Live Aware. It's funny that Rainbow Six 3, another Ubisoft title is, and it makes things nice. If I'm waiting for friends to pop on I can be killing time in single player mode and can be sent invitations.

It's strange that there isn't almost a set of rules governing how an interface should work. Even stranger is why games like Pandora leave basic things like being Live Aware. It seems like a common sense thing to do. Can things like this be fixed/updated via a download?

Heck, forget, RS3, even Prince of Persia: SoT is Live aware! I wonder if this is a result of different teams doing the single player and multiplayer portions of Pandora Tomorrow (correct me if I'm wrong)?

Here's some of my wishlist:

1. Smaller form factor! I'd prefer something that was rack width and integrates well into a stack of HT components.

2. Better PC integration. I know, it's sort of here with Music Mixer. Still, I'd like to stream audio off my music server PC and not fool with actual transfers.

3. Like Jeremy and Bruce pointed out, I'd like any Live title to be Live aware.

4. Web-based Friends List management. I'd like to be able to sort my Friends List into user-defined categories through a web interface. I'd also like to be able to have a very short comment field that can be displayed in lobbies. That way I can do things like attach real names to gamertags.

Excellent idea.

One more thing.

On live to go with a friends list I would love to have a "do not play" list. This would have come in handy for the mob of cheating idiots in ESPN football.

What about black hole lists? We see how clan support and tournaments can work.

A user can have the ability to sign onto, say, an LCVG black hole list with a password (again, web-interface would be best). When you play someone who is an asswipe, you can click on their name in a menu and select "Add to Black Hole --> LCVG" or "Add to Black Hole --> My Personal". Then that person would have a little tag/icon whenever someone subscribing to the LCVG list sees the assipe in a lobby.

* Dump the freaking Thompson drives already!!

* I agree with Jay, a smaller sleeker form-factor would be welcome.

* Live-aware for every game, absolutely.

* A standardized invite system, possibly with different 'levels' of invites, indicated iconically, from "I'm playing this now" to "would you be interested in playing this when you're done?" - whatever the specific message, it would be nice if you could simply indicate that you'd like to play, say, Top Spin without having to start a match and then sit and wait.

* Maybe a punch-through mic system where you can talk to someone on your friends list even if they are playing another game (of course, the other player could disable this if they want to). This may not be technically feasible.
