Gary P
Gents, Is anyone up for a game or 6 of Socom? Cal and I were thinking of braving the unwashed masses and we could definitely use some reinforcements. We were thinking about a 9:30-10:00 start. Let us know what you think. Chris F
braving the unwashed masses You haven't experienced unwashed asses unless you've been on an NYC bus in the summer with no air conditioning. Oh, wait, you said MASSES. My mistake. I'd play, but I don't own SOCOM... yet.
Eldorado
I'd be in, but I've yet to play a game from outside my region(east, west, central, etc). How is lag in that situation? BTW, I'm not that great, just kinda OK. Sean
Chris F
BTW, I'm not that great, just kinda OK. Who cares? Go and have fun! There is nothing more satisfying than getting a random kill on Nightwing. I mean, I wouldn't know 'cause he usually kicks my ass in RtCW, but I assume it would be satifying. Robot Monkey
There is nothing more satisfying than getting a random kill on Nightwing. Yeah, one time I accidentally whacked him with friendly-fire in RTCW. I felt shame twice: first when I realized what I did and then when I realized the grim satisfaction of finally killing him. -j
Gary P
Sean, I live in the southwest and play in the east servers all the time because that's just our designated metting place. Lag will show it's ugly head from time to time, but over the last few months it seems to have become pretty stable for the most part. You should definitely join us. Most of us are so rusty we aren't any good either. Gary PS. If you guys are interested in seeing Cal get capped with ease (in Socom) be on my team, mwahahaha
Eldorado
Who cares? Go and have fun! Oh, I certainly do. But it tends to be only like a minute or two of fun before I get capped. Sean
Josh
You haven't experienced unwashed asses unless you've been on an NYC bus in the summer with no air conditioning. You gotta get it. BTW, where in NYC do you work? We gotta get a beer. I'll buy. Then you can come experience SOCOM.
Chris F
You gotta get it. BTW, where in NYC do you work? I actually live in the Bronx, and work at Jacobi Medical Center up here. I go into the city to buy games, well, around 86th street usually since there's a EB, Gamestop (which I used to manage), B&N, Circuit CIty and a Best Buy. There's a pretty good indie shop up there on 89th and 3rd. The best store in the city, IMO, is 32nd games on 32nd between 6th & 7th. They discount new games and always have them on or before release date.
Calvin
Ruff & Robot - thanks for the props! er- I think... PS. I have one sniper bullet with your name on it.
Hank Scorpio
Socom tonite, eh? Is the room going to be the highest east? I'm at work until 10pm-ish central, but I can try to find you guys afterwards.

Calvin
Yeah - I'll make it Nightwing's (something). The room will be up in a few minutes - highest east server.
MrJames
First night on in forever. I was rusty as hell but I don't think I embarrassed myself either. Had fun though. It gives me hope of doing it again sometime.
Hank Scorpio
Ahhhh shazzbot, looks like I just missed you fellas. I got on and Cal was still on, but 2 minutes later was gone.
Eldorado
There was me and him and there weren't more than 6 people in the whole time. So we quit. It was fun though. Sean
Calvin
I think the power outage had something to do with it. We'll schedule another game again soon with enough time so we can get some more people playing. James, you were just fine! As was I...
Calvin
Jumping on now with JoBoo - just look for either a room with lcvg in it - or our names. Highest US East server as usual.
Gary P
Sitting in East 11 'lcvg funhouse' Join us if you can, if the briefing room is too full, IM Cal and we'll move it to a less full server. Thanks, Gary

Josh
I'm gonna try, but it'll be later after movie night at home with the girlfriend. Try to be on later, mmmkay?
adamsappel
Fun games tonight. Damn, but I'm bad at this game. All my RTCW skillz are totally backwards for SOCOM. Plus, I apparently had my controller set to "Special Ed" and the one time I could have actually won the map, I was helplessly pressing the wrong button. Gary P
Alan, Don't worry about it, like I said, it's hard to learn a game when everyone else has been hacking away at it for as long as we have. I still do think that going back to the default button config will help out tremendously though. I can't imagine how you were aiming and shooting at the same time unless you were bridging your thumb across the stick and the x button. At any rate, I had a blast as usual!
