scobeto
So I searched the forums and could not find any information on what LCVG stands for. The most prominent definition when googled is the Liquid Cooling and Ventilation Garment worn by astronauts. Is this where the name comes from? How long has the site been around? I don't know why it matters. Perhaps because I like history, and wanted to get some background and history of LCVG.com
Starhawk
The most prominent definition when googled is the Liquid Cooling and Ventilation Garment worn by astronauts. Is this where the name comes from? Precisely. Made using nylon tricot and spandex, the LCVG is basically a long underwear which covers the entire body, not just the legs. Laced with thin plastic tubes, cool water is allowed to flow through the suit using these tubes in order to remove heat produced by astronaut. The cooling water can either come from the astronaut's backpack or also an umbilical cord. Now that it's been explained, I think it is easy to see why this site was named LCVG.com. JFo
You know, I've been wondering the same damned thing for months now, but I've been too afraid to ask about it, simply because I fear that if I do, they'll beat the crap out of me. Would any of you smart Owner-type fellas like to answer this call?

No, not really. That actually makes no sense at all. A better explanation would be, "I like space suits and though LCVG was a cool acronym." But some weird metophoric relationship between fancy long underpants for spacemen and gaming is kind of a let down... :bang:

Cathartic
A friend of mine asked me that too, when I pointed him to this forum. I told him I had no idea, but the first suggestions I could come up with were: Life Consists of Video Games or Life Controlled by Video Games As evidenced by what Scott posted in the linked thread, neither was the true answer. It seemed obvious that the VG would stand for either "video game(s)" or "video gamer(s)", and I can see now that it does. Hmm, just having some fun with it now, some other possibilities: Lovers of Console Video Games Liquid-Cooled Video Gamers Leafy Cabbage is Very Good Lameass Cadaver Vomit Galore
Romier S
Life Consists of Video Games I actually like that. The original intention was "Lucid Console Video Games" which is something Kelley and I discussed way back when. After Scott jumped onboard we started joking around and calling it "Latino Caucasion Video Games". In all honesty it means little much in the way that 'IGN" means nothing now etc. It simply sounded good to me as an address in general. I rather like "Life Consists of Video Games" though. Mind if I use that?

And, judging by the level of inebriation of some games on Live, "Liquid-Cooled Video Gamers" is very apt as well. -j

Parrish
Since I came over from HTF for Glen's bargain thread, I always though of it as Low Cost Video Games.
boogieman
It's like somebody read my mind and asked for me. "Life Consists of Video Games" sounds good to me.

Starhawk
Life Consists of Video Games That's an awesome idea for the site's name. That and "Lameass Cadaver Vomit Galore." Both of those are equally great.
JoeyN
"Lameass Cadaver Vomit Galore." yep that fits in with our City of Heroes Facination for sure capt
Cathartic
I rather like "Life Consists of Video Games" though. Mind if I use that? By all means! I know it essentially describes my existence - and I'm sure I'm not alone here. Lameass Cadaver Vomit Galore This one was inspired by our less-than-stellar foray into the Positron Task Force mission. I hope I never have to see that much puke at one time again...
Zathras
Ah they are just jumping on the bandwagon - it is really "Low Carb Video Games"
