foogledricks
Every game that is previewed has some potential pitfalls that are mentioned. Halo 1 had repetitive boards. KOTOR had poor framerates. Prince of Persion had a redundant fighting system. GTA had poor on-foot gameplay. Zelda:WW had long and useless sailing, Metroid Prime had all that damn scanning, Metal Gear at all that video, and on and on... everything has flaws. I haven't heard a single negative thing said about Halo 2. There has to be something! Is this all hype? Or is this going to be the best game ever? Perfect 10 across the board. Has anyone heard some negatives?
Cyberwoo
Well I'm hoping they learned alot from making Halo. Hopefully they have made the levels more diverse and less repetitive. Other than that I can't think of a single flaw in Halo so I'm expecting great things in Halo 2. Maybe this will finally be the "perfect" game. JFo
I'm willing to bet that the ultimate downfall of Halo 2 will be its utter lack of stealth levels.
Graeme
Most of the flaws mentioned there weren't really things that were mentioned in the previews much... if at all. Whatever it's main flaw is, we may not know unti November.
scobeto
The only flaw I can think of is the release date! I don't think anyone has really played the game, save for a few people at E3, and all their comments have been positive. From the stuff I've read in magazines, they (and when I say they, I mean the magazine folks like EGM, XBN, etc) have all played just one multiplayer map called Zanzibar. I guess it's hard to find something wrong with it, when your in awe of just having the opportunity to play it for a few minutes. So, I think we'll have to wait until it gets closer to release date and these mags get their copies for review. After nearly three years, it better be 10's across the board, though.
Fugms
I don't think anyone has really played the game, save for a few people at E3 Someone sent me a copy of Gameinformer, May 2004. in it is "10 pages of multiplayer details" They played at Bungie Studios, against some of the alpha testers. 3 maps, 3 game types. "the first level is called lockout, that is a very small map that is tall and narrow." "the second level featured in the alpha test is named Burial Mounds, a medium-sized map," The third map "we were treated to a final level called Waterworks. An absolutely huge map," Game types: Team slayer, Assault, Capture the flag. Again this is just what was available in the alpha test. By the way, Bungie took back ALL the games from the testers when they had enough data "Our peak at these three multiplayer maps is only a brief glimpse of what is to come in Halo 2. The single player campaign is still shrouded in mystery," "We were unprepared for how intense Halo 2's multiplayer is" Oh, and the only negative I have heard of so far is "We dont have it yet!" :green:
merlot
Many of these so called "flaws" you listed are opinions, not fact. Furthermore, I find it a bit hard to have a disscussion about Halo 2 flaws when nobody has played it yet.

I'll reserve any further comments until after I have played it.
EnemaEms
Not sure how a game can have negatives when no one has really played anything close to a final copy. As far as I can tell, Duke Nukem Forever doesn't have any negatives either. -Dean-

And this isn't even the bungie forums! To me it is looking like Halo 2 could be the best game ever. I am very excited. I was just wondering if any of you had heard any journalist make some criticism based on the demo they played. I understand why some people might (as above) imply that "criticisms about Halo 2 are invalid because it isn't finished yet." No one is passing judgement on the holy grail that is Halo 2. Just curious if anyone had read any interesting editorial concerns about things experienced in the demos. Because it could make for interesting discussion. Like "Heat Seeking missles takes the skill away from using the rocket launcher." "No I don't think so, it makes it more intense when you're running from a heatseeking rocket!" Stuff like that. Josh
To me its greatest flaw is that it is already being hailed as another "upcoming greatest game evar." This just means that upon final release, the flames, trolls, fanboys, and other random idiots will be making the daily videogame forum tour an annoying (albeit entertaining at times) nightmare. I can guarantee you this, though: some people will think it's the greatest game ever, and some won't.
adamsappel
I'm disappointed that it won't have Microsoft's promised 24-player Live support.
hollismb
Well, how about this? What if, in multiplayer, we don't want to always be red vs. blue? How about silver vs. black or something? Then again, there's that whole four teams of four thing to consider. That's at least two more colors.
Derrik Draven
Well I'm hoping they learned alot from making Halo. Hopefully they have made the levels more diverse and less repetitive I read a quick blurb...I think on the Bungie site...from one of the devs that specifically mentioned how they (meaning, Bungie) got trounced over the repetitive levels in the 1st Halo. It was an area of the game that they just couldn't finish due to the "set in stone" release date of the Xbox launch. He mentioned that it wouldn't happen in Halo 2. :tu:
CaptainRon
I think the worst thing about Halo 2 is that I won't have it soon enough. Its hard for me to complain about a game that i think is going to dominate
