JoeyN
Ign has posted a Interview with the group manager in charge of it from Microsoft He mentions some games for it will be Monopoly, Scrabble, Pool, Bowling and a few more. Some will have full live features, some just high scores capt
Calvin
Sounds like a lot of fun. I hope this turns out to be as good as it sounds...
Robot Monkey
Great find, Joey, thanks! It looks very cool to me. I'm interested to hear more on pricing. -j
Failsafe
I'm really looking forward to this as well - thanks for the link! BTW, great new avatar, Jay! Although I'm sad to see Kermit and Miss Piggy go. :green:
Beer Monkey
Scrabble! Although I feel Poker doesn't normally play well without real money (as people don't bet/fold the same with play money), I think if we had a one-time-only, All-Time LCVG Poker Championship, that the major bragging rights might motivate the players to play like it is 'for real'. Hearts and/or Spades could be a good way to kill a couple of hours. With online scoreboards, I could definitely see a Galaga competition. Mark E
Be bold, MicroSoft, there's a whole slew of awesome German board games out there for you to license . If I could play Settlers of Catan online, it would kick ass, though I think CapCom holds those rights.

The IGN blurb on Live Arcade mentions that the games will reside on the HDD, but, even if accurate, it doesn't mean much. -j

Robot Monkey
You're right, but he was talking about the free disc that Live Arcades comes on. He says "full versions" on the disc will be playable offline, but it isn't clear to me whether this is standard for all games or is just something they did with the starter disc. We're not ready to announce the specific titles yet, but I can tell you that some of the games will be full versions of product (playable completely offline without a Live account), and some may be demos or feature-limited versions of games. -j
Covak
I'm really looking forward to this. It could be a great virtual environment to hang out in when you've got nothing real going on. The ultimate time waster, maybe. I'm really hoping that people can join rooms even if they're not playing the game, so you could possibly get together and chat around a pool table, ya know? That could make tournaments much more interesting... It would also be super if downloading a demo version of a game was enough to let you spectate Live games (and chat with everyone in the room), but that might be wishful thinking. If I could play Settlers of Catan online, it would kick ass, though I think CapCom holds those rights. That sure would rock. And how about Carcassonne, while they're at it? I won't hold my breath
Mark E
I wouldn't hold your breath either. CapCom released a Japanese online version of Settlers, but it's on the PS2. I'm pretty sure that the relatively low cross-over between the boardgame and videogame sets will keep it from coming out over here. D'oh! secretvampire
I will personally help organize an Official LCVG Poker Tourney when this is released. We could do it with a low buy-in ($10? $20?) to make it a little interesting without adding too much stress to it. I am so pumped for something like this. I don't get enough poker love out of my group of friends as we all have pretty different schedules.
