Zathras
http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/06/30/news_6101687.html It was a preexisting condition - but I wonder if arcade owners will be scared of lawsuits...
General Zot
I think they're ok, just like if someone gets on a rollercoaster with a weak heart. How can the owners possibly know? Also, DDR does run a disclaimer about heart conditions before you play. She made the call herself... Man, DDR is cool! I wish the at home versions were a little better (the pads.) Zathras
Oh I agree completely on DDR Rocking. If you are looking for better pads just build your own. I've built a couple based on the above page and they are as good as if not better than the arcade.
davedbc
For those without the skill or desire to build your own pad, I can personally testify that the Cobalt Flux pads, while pricey, are easily worth the investment. Of course, DDR was the series that prompted me to Mod my PS2 and pick up the import versions as well. Then again, I'm obsessive that way For those interested, point your browsers to http://www.cobaltflux.com. Just try not to let the sticker shock freak ya too much
CaptainRon
Thats pretty unfortunate. I don't think you could hold anyone else responsible for that though. It would be like going to a gym and playing basketball and having a heart attack and then suing the gym, makes no sense. Have there been any other video game fatalities out there? Have there been any other video game fatalities out there? Actually there was a big story in NYC within the last year in which some dude was trying to sue Crunch gym for making him feel "really tired and worn down" after signing up for a personal trainer. The personal training put him through some intense circuit training as they are likely to do for the newbs who need to get whipped into shape. PoisonJam
What?? Suing a gym for making you feel tired?? Isn't that what you go to gyms for??? Damn, that is just idiotic. It would be like suing McDonald's because they made you fat...er...oh, yeah. Someone did that, too. Sigh. /runs off to sue Dairy Queen for giving me an ice cream headache
The Daisy
Wow!!! Dave, you finally decided to post something in a thread! I can vouch for the Cobalt Flux pads though, I've played them at Dave's place as well as at another friends and they are very nice. You can't blame anything but yourself when you miss a note. Mmmmm.... Ice Cream.... Glen
