merlot
Just got her today. I plan to start commuting on it once I get more miles under me as it's my first bike. Mark (thrillho) and I took a motorcycle safety course a couple weekends ago, so we are all set. I'm sure he'll resurrect this thread once he gets his bike. kelley
that bike is really cool looking from the sides and back, but I just think the front looks a little unispired.

They make an "S" version which has a front fairing and clip on handle bars (lower): I like the "naked" look, as it's called.
rustyjaw
Actually I kinda like yours more than the "S", it's maybe a little plain, but it's more utilitarian looking, which is a nice look. Nice job Mike...stay safe!!

Not yet... for the first 500 miles I have to keep it under 5K, then under 7K till 1,000 miles. After that, I'll have to explore the upper range Even under 5K, in the higher gears it still pulls hard. I was cruising along in 5th gear at about 30mph, gave the throttle a twist and I was doing 50mph seconds later. If I ever have the courage, I'll take it the drag strip. I hear it's good for the 1/4 in the high 11's (and 0-60 in 3.5 seconds). Did I mention it gets over 40mpg!! :green: Thanks all for the comments. Jason Merrick
Mike, It kills me to read this thread!!!! Not only did I seriously consider buying a bike for commuter duties a few years ago, but I wanted THAT EXACT BIKE! After hearing the usual business from family and friends about how unresponsible that would be for me since I have a wife and kids, blah blah blah, I ended up getting my RSX which only cost about 3.5x as much and is probably about 1/10th as exciting during my commute. Congrats man!
merlot
Thanks Jason! Although I have no wife or kids (yet???), I still got plenty grief from my parents and sister. They finally came around after they saw I wasn't going to let their opinons affect my descision. Last night my friends gave me a little grief, particularly my friend thats a PT and his assistant, who continually have at me. I told them enough with the negative thoughts. I've got just over 200 miles on her now. I started doing some highway riding which I have to say I'm pretty comfortable with. Can't wait to hit 1000 miles so I could stretch her legs. The RSX is no slouch!! I serioulsy considered it before getting the WRX. You should at least look into taking the MSF course in your state. Some places it's free, like NJ. Other states don't fund it so you have to pay, but it's worth it, even if you don't plan to ride right away. Don't regret not doing what YOU want! A great qoute I read, author unkown: "I'm not going to tip toe through life only to arrive at death's door" Mike
Guest Bryan
We figured that you were idling naked on your new toy last night while we were RS3ing.
Thrillho
As Merlot predicted I'm reopening this thread because I finally purchased my new "toy" yesterday. Suzuki VL800, or Suzuki Boulevard C50 if you will.
Baiter
Just today I was complaining that 2 of my neighbors had bikes. Thanks for rubbing more salt in the wounds. Enjoy, I'll join on the road one day! :tu
kelley
It cost me almost $40 to fill up my wifes Jetta today, if I wasn't driving all highway to work I'd consider getting one.

I'm already in the hole $1500 for the season and we haven't even put her in the water yet. :thud With the cost of gas, filling the gas tank is going to be over $300. :help:
Eldorado
When I get my tax return here in the next couple weeks, I'm throwing about $400 into my Harley. I have to get a new seat, as mine makes my ass and back hurt. And a few other little things to spice it up. Looking forward to getting back out. Enjoy your purchase, it looks nice!
